Now that my time with Audible has come to an end, I want to take the time to look back on the journey that I embarked upon three years ago.
From my acceptance to the Future Leaders High School Interns Program to my departure as an Audible College Scholar, I constantly found myself supported and encouraged by those around me.
With Micaela Generali and Jeff Anderson being the ones who introduced me to the Audible world and remained with me as help lifelines throughout my internship, there was never a moment where I didn't feel welcomed.
Initially, stepping into this internship felt like an exciting yet frightening task. It was the first time I truly found myself within the corporate environment, surrounded by professionals.
After exploring my options by working at different departments at Audible, I ultimately landed a role at the Global Center for Urban Innovation under the guidance of Tamara Remedios.
Tamara was a fantastic mentor who always went above and beyond to make sure that I was constantly learning and growing. She connected me to other professionals and continuously looked for opportunities for me to get further involved at Audible. I am beyond grateful for her guidance, and I am proud to say I was her intern.
During my time with the GCUI team, I also met many amazing people, such as Aisha Browne Glover, Ari Fox, and Jennifer Shin. I heard about their journeys and the work they carry out, as well as what inspires them to keep going. They often would encourage me when I told them about my plans for school and my future career, and I am ever so grateful for their words.
I also want to thank Beej Shah for letting me partake in the Summer Institute Training for the incoming cohort of new students who are joining Audible as new interns. It was a pleasure speaking with the students about my experiences as an Audible intern and college student. I know that they will achieve great things.
I am glad to have been part of the Audible community and will always fondly look back at the time I was lucky enough to spend with them.
Thanks Audible fam!
