Empower Women - Innovate the Workforce - Restoring Communities
About us
Arouet Foundation is a 501(c)(3) Arizona nonprofit corporation whose mission is to provide education assistance, workforce development and job opportunities to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women who are sincere about working hard to change their livelihood. It all began inside Perryville Prison in Goodyear, Arizona in 2004. Televerde, a Department of Corrections workforce development partner, began a reentry program called T.O.P.S. (Transforming our Possibilities) to help prepare incarcerated women for life after prison, implementing programs that emphasize education, job skills, and post-release work opportunities, without increasing the burden on government. Then in 2011, Arouet Foundation was formed to take over these activities to ensure we were reaching a broader group of women. Arouet Foundation has proven that recidivism can be substantially reduced by more than 75%, with programs that emphasize education, job skills, and post-release work opportunities. Arouet Foundation has a goal of putting more people to work, and thereby reducing the increasing taxes we all share.

#Arouet was delighted to be at The Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation annual Workforce Summit on August 28th, which brought together employers and education leaders from across Arizona. This robust program featured renowned keynote presenters and panels of local experts to discuss workforce trends affecting business. Even more exciting was the opportunity to see our friends from Bank of America who has been such an incredible partner to us and we are thrilled to be a Bank of America #2022-2023 #BofANeighborhoodBuilder. This award truly allowed us to build out our programs and services. We could not be more grateful. Samantha Garcia Pennell Maria Echeveste Scott Vanderpool

It was such a pleasure to speak at Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry alongside of the wonderful Ryan Thornell, Ph.D. and Arouet’s own Jessica Perry-Bruner on the importance of building a dynamic workforce and a great opportunity to tap into some unbelievable #UntappedTalent! Let’s get talent back to work and fuel Arizona’s dynamic workforce needs. #GettingTalentBackToWork.
Our state economy is booming and needs more workers. It was a pleasure to moderate a workforce development panel at Arizona Chamber of Commerce & Industry Summer Policy Summit featuring Director Ryan Thornell, Ph.D. , Alison Rapping and Jessica Perry-Bruner . The panel highlighted opportunities for employers to hire untapped workforce and create workforce programs to prepare incarcerated individuals for jobs. And heard a powerful testimonial from Jessica #ArizonaforEveryone #SecondChances #Workforce Arizona Department of Corrections Arouet Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity

I am deeply grateful to Karen Johnson for her beautiful words and to my colleagues at #AZImpactforGood for taking a moment today at their annual conference to honor the legacy and life of the beautiful Dana Campbell-Saylor. Dana was a long time Arouet Board member and our illustrious Board Chair and my long-term mentor and friend. Dana’s impact on my life and career has been profound, and I am forever thankful for her guidance and support. She had a profound impact on many peoples lives, I just feel grateful to have been able to have been a small part of her orbit. She was a mentor, colleague, friend, and confidant to many. ❤️🙏🏾 As I reflect on the memories we all share, I am reminded of the original founders and first board members of the Alliance for Arizona Nonprofits, I am beyond inspired to have been able to watch this incredible organization grow grow and evolved into #AZImpactforGood. They have done an incredible job of stewarding this legacy into the organization it is today. and what a gift to the state you have turned this into♥️. Kristen Wilson, CAE, CNAP Laurie Liles The picture I am sharing alongside this post captures a moment with those incredible individuals who laid the foundation for our this initiative and our community. Patrick McWhortor Todd Hornback @Tim Delaney are pictured. Jacky Alling and Robert Ashcraft who are also original founders are missing from this photo but were instrumental in the development the Alliance. Also needing to be acknowledged is one of the thought leaders behind this entire movement Herb Paine. Dana’s legacy in the social benefit sector is significant. She was the person who inspired others to lift up our community, and as Karen so beautifully articulated, I hope each of us takes her message to heart: Be the reason—Be the person—who inspires another leader to strive! Dana’s example will continue to shine and inspire so many of us. Let’s carry forward her legacy of service, love, commitment and joy. Dana, You are so very missed. 🙏🏾❤️❤️❤️ #HonoringALegacy #UniteConference #AZImpactForGood Brandy Smith

A heartfelt THANK YOU to AT&T for their incredible generosity in funding Arouet's Digital Divide Lending Library! This initiative is a game-changer for justice-impacted women, providing them with essential technology and resources that are often out of reach. The digital divide has long been a barrier to education, employment, and empowerment, but thanks to AT&T we're now able to offer laptops, internet access, and digital literacy training to the women we serve. This will open doors to new opportunities, enabling them to pursue their dreams, gain vital skills, and reconnect with their communities. Your support is not just an investment in technology—it's an investment in people, in their futures, and in the strength of our entire community. Thank you, AT&T, for standing with us in this important work. Your commitment to digital inclusion makes a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. #DigitalInclusion #Empowerment #BridgingTheGap #FairChances
