Attention Board Registrants, The Board of Technical Registration is set to terminate July 1, 2024. A bill, HB2253, sponsoring the Board’s continuation for another eight years, successfully made it through the House. The Senate Government Committee has not agendized HB2253 for discussion, which may hold up the bill indefinitely. Without a continuation, the Board will terminate July 1, 2024. If you are concerned about the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration and the board’s mission statement in part to provide for the safety, health and welfare of the public and value your registration you may wish to reach out to your Arizona state senator, the Government Committee Chairman, Jake Hoffman ([email protected]), the Government Committee Vice Chairman, Wendy Rogers ([email protected]), Senate President Warren Petersen ([email protected]), and/or the Governor’s Office to show your support for the Board’s continuation. AZBTR is posting this on behalf of NCEES Attention Arizona Engineers, NCEES is currently seeking mining and/or mineral processing engineers to participate in a professional activities and knowledge study, or PAKS, for the PE Mining and Mineral Processing exam. Input from registered engineers is critical as the results of this online survey will be used to update the specifications for the exam, a process that occurs only every six to eight years. NCEES requires a cross section of licensed professional engineers practicing mining and/or mineral processing engineering—including those working in industry, consulting, the public sector, and academia—to complete the survey, which will take 20–45 minutes. Attention Arizona Home Inspectors, The Arizona Secretary of State published the Board’s Proposed Rulemaking on 06/16/2023 in the Arizona Administrative Register Volume 29, Issue 24. The Board has proposed amendments to three existing rules with respect to home inspectors. The register includes the proposed changes to the rules, justification for change and contact information regarding submitting comments regarding the proposed rulemaking. Please read the Board’s proposed rulemaking in the register as it explains what is being proposed and why. Please be advised that this rule package proposes adopting AZASHI's 2022 SOP as Arizona's home inspector minimum standards. Attention AZ Certified Home Inspectors, This email is to notify you that the Board is accepting Letters of Interest for one Home Inspector Rules and Standards Committee member position. Criteria: Pursuant to ARS 32-111(C), the board-appointed members serve staggered three-year terms. These members shall be home inspectors, shall each have at least five years of experience as a home inspector and shall have passed the examination prescribed in section 32-122.02. The Position: Regular Member Position - (staggered term January 2023 to January 2026) Committee Responsibilities  Pursuant to ARS 32-111(D), the committee is responsible for drafting and recommending to the board: 1. Criteria for home inspector certification. 2. Standards for home inspection reports. 3. Standards for written examinations. 4. Standards for educational programs, including course of study, programs and continuing education. 5. Rules defining conduct. 6. Recommendations for types of financial assurances as required in section 32-122.02. 7. Other rules and standards related to the practice of home inspectors. The committee may participate in the investigation and review of home inspector complaints as provided by the board. The Committee meets on average five times a year at the Board's office at 1110 W. Washington St. Suite 240 Phoenix AZ 85007. What to Submit 1. Letter of Interest Your letter of interest needs to include the following: State that you meet the minimum criteria to be a HIRSC member (you are a certified home inspector, have five years of experience as a home inspector and that you passed the National Exam). Board staff will confirm your statements. Indicate why you are interested in becoming an HIRSC member. What strengths can you bring to the committee? If you become a member, what do you hope to accomplish and why? 2.
