I had a great time conversing with Sue Bergamo. I was particularly fascinated by this comment: "We have to give women more opportunities to understand the roles that they can have within cyber. And it doesn't necessarily just need to be the CISO. There's so many paths in security that any individual can take."

Talking with Kaala Evans was a great experience.This comment stood out to me as especially interesting: "I would say, touch a little bit of everything. Understand the technology. Talk to different people who are more involved with the technology side before you try to move over to the cyber side."

I had an insightful conversation with Matthew Sharp. This particular comment caught my attention: "This is not my own prophecy here, but the generative AI arc is probably according to Gartner, we're in the height of inflated expectations, and we're going to see that come down."

It was wonderful talking with Carraig Stanwyck. I found this comment particularly intriguing: "If phishing is still that effective and we are the weak link, it doesn't matter what tools you have or what shiny objects you're chasing if you don't have the basics locked down. "

I really enjoyed chatting with Robert Former. This comment struck a cord: "Even if you're going to pursue a career in application development, I still recommend learning the adversarial techniques so that you can learn to think outside the box."

I really appreciated the conversation with Tony Bautts. This comment struck a cord: "I think certainly the way I think of it from more of the leadership mindset is to be much more involved with your product teams and try to understand more of the business problems that the company's trying to solve with the product and also understanding the customer needs better."

I had an amazing talk with Chris Brown. This comment struck a cord: "And then coming up with collaborative solutions. In terms of surprises, the biggest thing is unmet expectations. We have our own calibrations about, I'm doing great. I'm running this function really well. My team loves me. I have a really low turnover rate. We're getting projects done. We're getting work done. We're shipping the reports we need to. We're making progress. And then the feedback is maybe not where you expect it to be. And that is really heartbreaking, creates a lot of stress."
