We are delighted to celebrate the retirement of Rick Crandall, District Manager in our SoCal Division, who has given 52 years of service to our company and industry. Rick started his career as a box boy at Dales Market in 1971 and through the years has held various positions, from bottle sorter to District Manager.    Rick is an exemplary leader and colleague, who has made a lasting impact on our operations, culture, and sustainability. One of the most rewarding aspects of his career has been the opportunity to mentor and promote numerous associates, encouraging them to grow professionally. Rick is also proud of the sustainability efforts he led for the retail industry when he held the position of Director of Environmental Stewardship.      Rick will be greatly missed by his team and peers, but we wish him all the best in his new chapter as he looks forward to spending more time outdoors, pursuing activities like hiking, boating, fishing and skiing, enjoying Los Angeles Dodgers games and cherishing moments with his friends and family, including his three daughters: Jenny, Colleen, and Casey, and five grandchildren. Rick and his wife Christine will also celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary this year.     Please join us in congratulating Rick on his remarkable, customer-driven career and thanking him for his dedication and loyalty. Rick, you are a legend, and we hope you enjoy your well-deserved retirement!    #retirement #congratulations #sustainability #teamwork #leadership

Juneteenth is a time to celebrate, reflect, and serve. That's what our Albertsons African American Leadership Council (AAALC) ARG did this year by participating in different events in Dallas, TX, that commemorated the historical and cultural significance of the day and the resilience and contributions of the African American community. Our AAALC enjoyed activities including: - A panel discussion featuring Dr. Marvin Dulaney from the African American Museum Of Dallas, who shared his insights and expertise on the history and impact of Juneteenth and the Reconstruction Era. - A Family Reunion BBQ at our Plano Office, where our team enjoyed a celebration filled with music, food, Black Line Dancing lessons and connection with colleagues and friends. - A donation drive to support the Boys and Girls Club in Plano, TX, where the team provided food, drinks, and ice cream for the children and staff. Our AAALC members delighted in seeing the smiles on the children’s faces and making their celebration enjoyable and memorable. - A day of service at the African American Museum of Dallas and Opal’s National Walk of Freedom, where the team volunteered to help with various tasks and joined the walk to honor the legacy of Juneteenth and the freedom fighters who paved the way. We are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate, reflect, and serve on this important day. We thank all our AAALC members for coming together as one team to give back to our communities and celebrate. Happy Juneteenth! #Juneteenth #FreedomDay #ARG #Community

Our team at Tom Thumb in DeSoto, Texas hosted an amazing Juneteenth community celebration last weekend! The team partnered with local, black-owned businesses, brands, musicians, performers and more to showcase the diversity and richness of our culture. It was a joy to see our shoppers and associates enjoy grilling inspiration and special tastes of brisket, pulled pork and other delicacies from Ron Bates of Twisted BBQ, live music from Steven Brown Jazz, performances from the 40+ Double Dutch Club, and samples from 10+ local, black-owned brands like Earl Campbell’s, Neale’s Sweet N Nice Ice Cream, Luzianne Tea, Southern Recipe Small Batch, and Glory Foods. We also had the honor of welcoming Dione Sims, the granddaughter of Opal Lee, who is known as the grandmother of Juneteenth and a leader of the movement to make it a federal holiday. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this remarkable event and supported our black-owned vendors. #Juneteenth #Equality #CelebrateFreedom #Community

According to the USDA, 12.8% of Americans are food insecure. This impacts overall health, healthcare costs, and the ability to thrive at work and school. At Albertsons Companies and our banner stores, we're dedicated to tackling this issue head-on.    As one of the largest food and drug retailers in the US, we are committed to making health and wellness more accessible through various food programs at local, state, and national levels. One of the ways we help our neighbors in need is through the SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) Match program which provides crucial financial assistance to help put healthy food on the tables of millions of Americans. In a growing number of our stores, SNAP shoppers who spend a qualifying amount on fresh fruit and vegetables receive a coupon for future produce purchases ensuring more Americans have access to nutritious foods.   Learn more about our initiatives and how we're supporting the communities we serve by visiting our website: https://lnkd.in/gYUB5_ss    #AlbertsonsCompanies #FoodInsecurity #HealthAndWellness #CommunitySupport #SNAPMatch #MakingADifference

We are proud to announce that the Albertsons Companies Foundation is partnering with a coalition of leading players across the food system to tackle summer hunger for millions of kids across the country. Through this first-of-its-kind initiative, we will help drive awareness and boost participation in the USDA's Summer EBT program, which provides grocery benefits to low-income families with school-aged children during the summer months when school is out. In addition, the coalition launched SummerEBT.org, a website that gives families a simple, fast way to check their eligibility and connect to their state sign-up site. Summer EBT is a game-changer for families facing hunger, and we are honored to join forces with Feeding America®, Food Research & Action Center, Gift Card Bank, Hunger Free America, mRelief, No Kid Hungry, Partnership for a Healthier America, and WhyHunger to support healthy futures and make this program a success. Together, we can ensure that no child goes hungry this summer and beyond. #NourishingNeighbors #SummerEBT #EndHunger Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eCUuSA5T
