No matter your ability, exercise is a great way to get stronger, improve your balance, and reduce pain! Explore different exercises which can be modified for any person with a disability. https://lnkd.in/gXsA5x5V Strength training: Using weights to build muscle and improve balance Try: Resistance bands, weighted objects like soup cans, or traditional weights (start low and add weight as strength improves) Flexibility: Prevent injury, increase range of motion, and reduce pain and stiffness Try: stretching while lying down, chair yoga, or seated tai chi Cardiovascular: Raises your heart rate and increases endurance Try: chair aerobics, stationary bikes, or exercising in water to reduce joint discomfort Remember! The Reading Area Transportation Study (RATS) is updating its Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP), which helps direct transportation investments and land use. As part of the process, RATS will be conducting public outreach meetings across Berks County to review the goals and objectives identified in the current plan, and identify any recommended changes needed for the new plan.
