PhD Candidate at Wageningen University & Research, working on biomimicry and philosophy of technology
📆 The past month has felt surreal in the number and diversity of events I had the privilege to attend and contribute to. Two conferences (STS Italia and SPT 2025), a gathering in a convent to discuss the work of Ivan Illich, and a solarpunk festival I contributed to organize in my hometown. 🎉 One of the highlights has been the Early Career Award that my paper on environmental techno-solutionism and conviviality received from the Society for Philosophy and Technology at SPT 2025 in Eindhoven! This is a paper that took me more than two years to write, almost becoming a monograph on its own as I ventured deeper into the ideas of Ivan Illich and the desperate attempt to connect philosophy of technology and environmental thought. We all know the invisible labor and toil that go into academic research, especially during a PhD when research is also me-search. I'm beyond thankful for this recognition and for all the smart colleagues and friends without whom this work would not be nearly as fun, interesting and meaningful. #SPT2025 #STSItalia #Philosophyoftechnology #IvanIllich
