Analyze The Performance The best way to improve your results, is to measure and analyze it consistently. With that in mind, you will be able to adjust your actions and improve your results.

I would like to add on to this. Head of Marketing needs to understand the competition & accordingly devise strategies. Also they are responsible for improving the brand image of the company.

You could have the best plan in the world but all plans are worthless if they aren’t executed… A head of any function ensures that there is clear path for their subordinates to go out and execute and leads/manages said people to get the job done. The best sales and marketing leaders I’ve been exposed to are constantly iterating, learning and coaching their subordinates how to find efficiency in processes, acquire skills and ultimately scale themselves as leaders through coaching their teams to ensure plans are successful. I’ve found more success in my career from having a bias towards action above all other aspects of leading a function.
