This is key and sometimes forgotten easily. I can definitely be frustrating to be in a situation where there is a sudden shift. Been there, done that. What helped me the most was to really not take it personally and understand that this shift will cause potential delays or more work to be done. By remaining calm, it is easier to communicate to the client the challenges you may face as a designer. They are more likely to be reciprocative and understanding.
