Understand the prospects business model, current imperatives and then approach with transparency and clear communication - while all the while going for a win-win approach

The easiest way to move toward finding relevance is to ask the following questions: - What are your business objectives and how do you plan to achieve? - What is my solution's revenue and margin contribution to your business? - What goal can we set together that will be worth your while? - What sales/marketing/services activities can we do together to attain the goal? My Partner knows where to find me and also that the communication changes depending on their priority at a given time. Some of them need to be hand held, some just want an email or newsletter, and others are quite self-service. Depending on your program you can put different resources to help them out as well. The best way is like in any relation by asking them: What do you prefer? How do you like to be supported? Which insights do you need? Whom should we connect together? They want and need visibility on their customers and prospects with you and vice versa so doing it collaboratively is what is the most important

Always be ready for your top opportunity to not be feasible for whatever reason (timing, complexities, etc.) that's why it's good to review each others' lists and find some mutual ground.
