Skills are a MUST. Not knowledge - skills. You watch and SEE. Look and SEE. Most people just look but cannot see. Use equipment like a gunslinger. Quick. Do not think - act. Do not react to situations - act! Watch your results. Improve every possible way.

A great image does not rely only in great photo technique. It depends on what the image needs and the final purpose of that same image, sometimes simple, unperfected and very natural works better than a high end complex image. To understand that and the ability to adapt, for me is what makes someone a master technical photographer.

Wer professioneller Fotograf werden will, muss selbstverständlich die komplette Technik im Schlaf beherrschen. Eine weitere wichtige und hilfreiche Fähigkeit ist, "das Licht" zu erkennen, zu sehen, zu lesen. Hilfreich um dies zu Lernen ist, Fotos genau unter diesem Aspekt zu betrachten und zu erkennen, welche Lichtquelle, diese oder jene Wirkung hat. Als einfachstes Beipiel hierzu: Du positionierst die Person für ein Portrait im direkten Sonnenlicht. Das ist keine gute Idee und Du wirst es bemerken und sehen. Die Sonne blendet, die Augen sind klein, die Haut ist überbelichtet, die Schatten sind zu hart, usw. Deshalb: Lerne "das Licht" zu sehen. Alleine dadurch vermeidest Du viele Bilder, die mit falschem Licht nur zweite Wahl werden.

I am strictly against the primitive strict photography rules. You don’t always have to stick to them to be a good photographer. It’s always okay to know the rules but you can always be more critical at thinking and come up with unique ideas and angles.

Don't waste time on other photographers! THEY would happily sink you in a glass of water! Consider only CLIENTS' opinions. They Pay - they matter. Person who pays you is an honest person. All others would either please you or despise you!
