I have seen that they prefer one model over the other but aren't able to explain why they prefer it. Even if they try to explain, it's a hit and miss type of ordeal. So, I would suggest that they first understand the Why's (why am I choosing this model instead of other) before moving forward with the How's of a problem.

Two things I would like to share from my side are the research connection and knowing about the company. Research is everywhere, present in all places, and not confined only to academics. Keeping aware of the recent trends in A.I research would aid a lot in machine learning interviews, alongside with strong technical foundation. Maths in crucial!! Dont leave maths, considering A.I being a programming field. If you think so, you are wrong. Maths is the backbone of A.I and having adequate knowledge in it, would sign the deal.
