Code, learn to code, learn to understand code, and to find vulnerabilities in code. At the end the information technology is based on someone else's code. Understand the framework of the architecture. The technology is shifting towards deep learning and AI. In order to compete in the next 10 years, IT sec people should equip themselves with the new knowledge and practices. Cyber engineering jobs, will be different in 10 years, and more easy to fulfill, but without a programming expertise, it will be hard to cope with the advancement, and the day to day IT sec and info sec processes. Learn more than one language, and master them through labs and hacks. One of the soft skills IT sec people should work on, is to have a strong memory!!
