A gastropub menu paying tribute to local farmers and their freshest fare awaits discerning diners at The River Room. Progressive American cuisine and a decidedly relaxed ambiance largely account for the popularity of the clubhouse hot spot. While the clubhouse’s restaurant, bar, grill, and spacious terrace invite spirited socializing with friends, the real showstopper here may be The Oyster Bar in the men’s locker room. Here, twin walls of crushed white oyster shells bookend a great lounge that includes a pool table, full bar, large-screen television, and plush recliners. Canopied by a wood-sculpted barrel ceiling, The Oyster Bar was deemed one of the “coolest spots in golf” by GOLF magazine in 2019.
First Course: Mixed Greens
River Course, with its stunning vantage points and world-class fairways, raised the bar for Club amenities still to come. PGA legend Tom Fazio brought his A-game to designing the Club’s first private course, capitalizing on the grandeur of the landscape for ever-challenging and always inspiring play. Gorgeous landscapes and waterways attend the 7,019-yard test which unfolds along river’s edges, savannas, tranquil ponds, and maritime forestry. In 2015, Fazio returned to renovate and enhance the course. The million-dollar project included rebuilding bunkers, replacing turf, and adding women’s tees to several holes. And the addition of a comfort station serving drinks and edibles has proven to be a very popular rejuvenation spot for players.
