Welcome
Welcome to the KCRI Applications Portal. This is the central access point to KCRI's application services for KCRI staff and its collaborators and partners.
From here you can access our data management applications, our bioinformatics servers, and our information sharing and collaboration environment.
For all information about KCRI, visit our main web site http://www.kcri.ac.tz/.
Connecting
The KCRI Applications Portal is accessible from anywhere at https://www.kcri.it/.
Some of the applications, when accessed from the public internet, will present a login dialog asking you to authenticate to "KCRI Application Services". Please send an email to the KCRI system administrators ([email protected]) to obtain a username and password.
Support
If you have any questions about the software, do not hesitate to contact us via the contact link provided on this page.
Information Sharing
KCRI's information sharing environment "Share" operates much like DropBox and Google Drive, but is hosted in-house at KCRI. It is based on NextCloud, which is an Open Source on-premise cloud.
KCRI Share allows us to manage and share documents in an easy but controlled way, both within KCRI and with partners outside of KCRI.
KCRI Share is at: https://share.kcri.it.
Data Management
REDCap
KCRI runs a REDCap server for use by its Data Management Unit (DMU) and external collaborators. Contact our data administrators for access.
Production
OpenDataKit (ODK)
KCRI runs ODK instances for a number of projects that collect data in the field using mobile devices such as tablets and mobile phones.
The ODK Test instance can be used by anyone to try out their forms. The production instances are assigned on request.
OpenClinica
KCRI's OpenClinica (OC) instances have been archived and are no longer available on-line.
Bioinformatics Tools
The KCRI Bioinformatics Unit operates a cluster of machines (HPC) which runs among other services the "BAP", a Bacterial Analysis Pipeline developed originally by the Center for Genomic Epidemiology at DTU Copenhagen. It is being further developed jointly by KCRI and DTU, in the context of various collaboration projects.
For access to the cluster, please contact us.
