Currentzicks takes flight with Top Johncrow

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Dancehall recording artiste Currentzicks is leaving a mark on the music scene with his single Top Johncrow.

Produced by Chiavi Records, the track was released on all digital platforms on July 24, 2024, and the official music video will be released this March.

“The Johncrow movement was inspired by being cheated on in previous relationships and I made the decision to be a Johncrow (polygamist), by definition in Jamaican culture,” the artiste said.

Living up to his name as a standout artiste, Currentzicks took the live performance to another level, recently performing at Witty’s Birthday Bash while holding a live johncrow. The performance went viral on social media, thrusting the artiste even further into the spotlight. This has led to an increase in his listeners and is a great indicator for his journey ahead.

“The reception I’ve gotten for my performances and the song itself has been very good, as the song has been accepted by listeners who embrace a polygamous lifestyle due to unfaithful partners from their past relationships,” the artiste added.

Based in Mandeville, Manchester, Currentzicks has been putting in 15 years of hard work and consistency, bringing his flavourful dancehall and pop sound to the ears of listeners everywhere.

“I would describe my music as unique, having fusions of different genres with interesting lyrics and creativity,” he highlighted.

“As Currentzicks, I envision my music reaching new heights and breaking boundaries, establishing a strong online presence, and releasing critically acclaimed projects. I also see myself touring extensively.”

With past releases including Bull Ina Pen and With You, the artiste has shown his versatility and musical abilities, getting major kudos performing with international Reggae superstar Shaggy.

He said the public should expect more music and performances in the near future.
