Both teams showcased their shooting prowess, with Neptune sinking 11 three-pointers and KCYMS hitting 14. The match was a rollercoaster, featuring four ties and three lead changes, but ultimately it was Neptune's resilience that clinched the victory in this unforgettable mixed match.

The contest unfolded with Flexachem KCYMS dominating the first period, racing into a 33-17 lead, thanks to Beni Fungula, Clayton Riggs Ladine and Jeffery Echezonachukwu Okeke each scoring nine points.

Neptune fought back in the second period, narrowing the gap to 59-44, led by Chancellor D'Cameron Calhoun-Hunter's nine points.

As the third period began, Neptune surged with a 0-9 run to close in on KCYMS, but the score stood at 81 points to 69 at the end of the quarter in Killorglin’s favour.

The fourth period saw a dramatic turnaround, with both teams tying at 93 apiece at the end of the quarter, sending the game to overtime.

In that overtime period, the lead kept changing to keep the crowd on edge, but Neptune ultimately took the lead, sealing the game 101-100, highlighted by Jaksa Sola's clutch performance and Calhoun-Hunter's impressive double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The Killorglin club have a weekend off next week before they welcome Galway side Maree to the Killorglin sports centre for a 7.15pm tip-off on Saturday, January 25.
