I just finished watching this show filmed live in Las Vegas, and it was painful. Carson has no humour, nor does he have any interviewing skills. The show had many of those "uncomfortable silence" moments where you felt uncomfortable even watching it from home. A true interviewer like Jack Parr, Johnny Carson or David Letterman can continue an interview regardless of the interviewee and their inane answers. Carson Daly does not have this ability. He's been on the air for a while now, so if the ability was going to show itself it would have already. Jon Stewart had the same problem, but he worked on it and achieved a good style. Carson has yet to do this. There's a reason that this show is on at 1:30am.
This movie is truly Canadian. It's based on one of Canada's big sports: curling. I don't think it will be a big hit in the US (based on David Letterman's take on curling), but I think it's well worth a watch if you are a fan of the sport. Paul Gross did a good job writing, directing and starring in the movie and Leslie Nielson was a very solid supporting actor. The true stars of the movie were the other 3 curlers on Cutter's team. I recommend this movie to all curlers...and true Canadians.
This documentary shows many great performances by John Lennon and many insider scenes. The scene when John invites the man looking for answers inside his mansion for a sandwich is a very sensitive moment. John shows that he is a genius and a very introspective person who knows his strengths and weaknesses. A must watch for all Beatles and Lennon fans and a very interesting look at a major celebrity of our time for the rest.
