"Wkrp in Cincinnati" may not be easy to find on streaming these days, but it's still a highlight in sitcom history. The show about a failing radio station run by a groovy and eccentric team was a hit in the '70s, garnering 10 Emmy nominations and the coveted Humanitas Prize before signing off after four seasons. Unfortunately, the show's heavy emphasis on popular music has made it a rare quantity today: according to MTV, the show didn't make it to DVD until 2007 in part because it was tricky to secure the rights to all of the songs featured in its original run. It's currently only available digitally if you buy it on Apple TV, and versions of the show available today are still reportedly missing some songs, with stock music added in their place.
Still, the ultra-'70s show is worth seeking out for comedy fans and music fans alike,...

Within minutes, the McMurrays cemented a place in our hearts, and hopefully, we'll be watching them for several seasons.
During Ride Season 1 Episode 1, the McMurrays banded together to try and save the family ranch.
They also showed that family wasn't always just by blood, and sometimes you were blessed to find another family.
Many long-running family dramas have ended recently, including This Is Us, Good Witch, and Chesapeake Shores. Ride elevates the family loyalty from Chesapeake Shores and adds sizzling chemistry from the two leads.
The multi-talented cast adds to the magic of the series, particularly the McMurray family. Nancy Travis is a well-respected actress known for many projects, especially ABC's Last Man standing. She plays the matriarch, Isobel McMurray.
Tiera Skovbye, who portrays Missy McMurray, is most well-known for playing Grace Knight in the Canadian medical series Nurses and Polly Cooper on Riverdale.

Seasoned Finnish producer Ilkka Matila of Mrp Matila Röhr has signed with Estonia’s Taska Film and locked early support from the Finnish Film Institute and local commercial channel MTV3 for the 2.7m film “Between the Hammer and the Sickle.” Nordisk Film holds Scandinavian rights.
To be pitched on Aug. 24 at the Nordic Co-Production Market in Haugesund, Norway, the title will be one of Matila’s most defining projects, a feature which he believes will stay, along the lines of the multi-awarded “Mother of Mine” or “The Eternal Road.”
“Between the Hammer and the Sickle” will be one of the first features ever to portray Finland’s illustrious former president Urho Kekkonen. Head of state for nearly 26 years, Kekkonen served as the longest-serving Finnish president from 1956 until 1981 and masterminded his country’s policy of neutrality, keeping at bay the threatening Soviet Union with which Finland shares 800 miles of border.

Many people throughout the years have been referred to as “Disney Legends,” usually based on their close proximity to the company or for working on multiple projects with them. But starting in the late 1980s, becoming a Disney Legend was something that would actually happen – you’d get a statue and a golden, lifetime ticket to all of the Disney Parks and your handprints would soon be immortalized in Legends Plaza, an area on the Disney Lot in Burbank (formerly the reflection pool for the masterful Team Disney Burbank building designed by postmodern architect Michael Graves). In recent years, a lavish ceremony has been added to the D23 Expo, the all-Disney version of Comic-Con, that happens every two years in Anaheim.

James Wolk is officially returning to the small screen.
NBC has ordered new drama Ordinary Joe to series.
The series explores the three parallel lives of the show's main character after he makes a pivotal choice at a crossroads in his life.
The series asks the question of how different life might look if you made your decision based on love, loyalty or passion
This means we'll get to see Wolk playing a rock singer, a nurse, and a cop as his life goes in very different directions.
"I still remember when Matt Reeves shared this passion project back when I worked at Twentieth. Russel and Garrett wrote such a compelling and emotional script that was expertly executed from page to screen," said Lisa Katz, President, Scripted Content, Entertainment and Streaming.

The Season 20 premiere of NBC’s The Voice drew a 1.1 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic and 7.74 million viewers for its two-hour debut Monday, finishing as the night’s most-watched show and tying ABC’s The Bachelor for the top spot in the key demo.
It also served a lead-in for NBC’s new sci-fi drama Debris, toplined by Jonathan Tucker and Riann Steele. It was up a tenth from the averages of Weakest Link and The Wall which had held the slot so far in 2021, and up two tenths from the last 10 p.m. premiere for NBC, Canadian pickup Nurses.

As those who read my reviews will remember, Nurses Season 1 Episode 8 included some negative and inaccurate depictions of religious Jews. Clearly, I wasn't the only one upset about this.

She explains how the episode portrayed the Hasidic Jewish characters as backward, hateful, and refusing to accept medical help, pointing out the inaccuracies as she goes.
The article ends with a call to action, "Hasidic Jews are being attacked in the streets with greater frequency every single day. Do better, Hollywood, at not constructing pernicious lies that endanger our community.

NBC has pulled an episode of Canadian import Nurses from its digital platforms after it was condemned by the Simon Wiesenthal Center for its depiction of Orthodox Jews, per The Hollywood Reporter.
The installment in question — which aired on Feb. 9 in the states — featured a scene in which a young Orthodox Jewish patient named Israel is informed by a doctor that he will require a bone graft for his injured leg. The procedure requires surgically inserting a part of a cadaver’s leg into the patient, prompting remarks from Israel and his father.

An episode of Canadian drama “Nurses” that aired on NBC earlier this month has been pulled from the broadcaster’s digital platforms following backlash over the installment’s storyline about an Orthodox Jewish patient refusing a bone graft from a potentially “Arab” or female donor, a spokesperson for the network tells TheWrap.
“The writers of this scene check all the boxes of ignorance and pernicious negative stereotypes, right down to the name of the patient, Israel – pious and all,” the Simon Wiesenthal Center said in a statement earlier Wednesday. “In one scene, NBC has insulted and demonized religious Jews and Judaism. Overreaction? Orthodox Jews are targeted for violent hate crimes — in the city of New York, Jews are number one target of hate crimes in U.S.. This is no slip of the tongue. It was a vile, cheap attack masquerading as TV drama. What’s NBC going to do about it?...

NBC is pulling the season finale of its Canadian import Nurses off its digital platforms amid backlash from national Jewish organizations regarding a scene they accuse of being anti-Semitic.

“The writers of this scene check all the boxes of ignorance and pernicious negative stereotypes, right down to the name of the patient, Israel—paiyous and all. Though it wasn’t one of the top programs of Tuesday evening according to Nielsen Live+Same Day fast affiliate numbers (that triumph goes to an original of NBC’s “This Is Us” and to an encore of CBS’ “NCIS”), The CW’s series debut of “Superman & Lois” at 8 p.m. and the “Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope” special both scored substantial primetime numbers compared to the network’s typical ages 18-49 performance. “Superman & Lois” beamed 1.71 million viewers to its premiere telecast and drew a rating of 0.3 in the key demo. Off the case. In this exclusive clip from Tuesday, Feb. 23's Nurses season finale, Ashley (Natasha Calis) faces retaliation from head nurse Sinead (Cathy White) after reaching out to the latter's boyfriend with concerns about Sinead's drinking. For those unfamiliar with the show, per NBC, Nurses "follows five young nurses working on the frontlines of a busy downtown hospital, dedicating their lives to helping others, while struggling to help themselves." This is proven to be true in the just-released footage above. "What did I tell you?" an enraged Sinead snaps at Ashley. "My boyfriend just confronted me about being back in the drop. ABC and CBS settled for a primetime ratings tie with Univision on Wednesday, when ABC’s “For Life” dipped to a new low among adults 18-49 and CBS premiered Season 2 of “Tough as Nails.” “For Life,” which is produced by rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, slipped to a 0.2 rating in the key demo, according to Nielsen. It did, however, manage to have a few more overall viewers this week than last week. CBS aired two reruns last night and ABC aired one — that didn’t help either network’s case. Keon screws up royally on Nurses Season 1 Episode 8. His heart was in the right place, but he overestimated his own power in the situation.
Keon has been fighting the stereotype that comes with being a successful athlete since day one, but he played right into it when he tried to intimidate Dr. Hamillton.
He's used to people being scared and stepping down because he's strong and imposing. However, he's just a first-year nurse in this situation. He has no more power than Grace of Naz. Dr. Hamitlon is the powerful big bad boogyman here.
Grace: Why did you have to tell him?
Keon: I just ... I just thought, if he knew someone was watching, he'd think twice about trying anything else.
Grace: Who exactly is watching? A couple of junior nurses?
Keon: I didn't mean to make things worse.

It was a slow night, but the one constant was ABC's Big Sky.
Big Sky Season 1 Episode 7 managed 3.6 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating -- on par with last week's midseason debut, and right on par with its season average.
For a 10 Pm series, Big Sky is holding up very well, and should get a second season renewal at these levels.
Elsewhere on ABC, To Tell the Truth (4.2 million/0.5 rating), Black-ish (2.6 million/0.5 rating) and Mixed-ish (2.2 million/0.4 rating) all came down from last week's opener, meaning that Big Sky was the network's only steady series on the night.
Over on Fox, The Resident came down to a series low in the demo.
The medical drama had a 0.5 rating and 4 million viewers, while Prodigal Son was steady at series lows with 2.4 million and a 0.4 rating.
Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2.2 million/0.4 rating) dipped, while Nurses (1.7 million/0.4 rating) went the other way.

Poor Grace. Nurses Season 1 Episode 7 was another Grace centric episode, and man, did we feel for her. She's trying so hard to be strong, but she's been through so much.
Grace blames herself for what Dr. Hamilton did to her. That isn't an uncommon response to an assault, unfortunately. Thankfully, Grace has Ashley and the rest of her friends to tell her that it wasn't her fault.
What happened with her patient, Nic, however, was. We can sympathize with Nic. Between living in a hospital and dealing with a chronic condition, it must be the worst. Plus, losing your toes? Nobody can blame her for wanting a day off.
Nic: Two toes down. Pedicures will never be the same.
Grace: Maybe you'll get a 20& discount.
Nic: You know, when you're going downhill, you don't ever think that you're literally going to fall apart.
Grace: (Laughs) Sorry. I shouldn't laugh.
Nic: Really.

It was a good night for ABC's Big Sky.
The freshman drama returned with 3.7 million viewers and a 0.6 rating in the demo -- right on par with where it left off in the fall.
More promising is that it held up without a hefty lead-in from The Bachelorette.
The Season 2 debut of Mixed-ish did 2.6 million viewers and a 0.6 rating -- down from last season's premiere, but up from its spring average.
Black-ish resumed its season with 3 million viewers and a 0.6 rating.
To Tell the Truth started the night for ABC with 4.3 million viewers and a 0.6 rating.
Over on Fox, The Resident was stable with 3.5 million viewers and a 0.6 rating, but Prodigal Son came down to new series lows.
It had 2.2 million viewers and a 0.4 rating, which might not be good enough to stick around at Fox.
If the show continues to vault in delayed viewing, it should be fine. The...

Kabir is the worst. Actually, Dr. Hamilton is the worst, but Kabir is a close second. Grace finally ended her affair on Nurses Season 1 Episode 6, and I couldn't be happier! It's about time, really.
TV shows have a way of numbing us to less than okay relationships. We appreciate the nuances of morally ambiguous relationships, our shipper goggles excusing bad behavior.
We knew Grace's boyfriend was engaged to someone else. That's not a good sign for their relationship. He might not be the best guy. But we liked Grace, and she was doing it too, and we've excused worse in fiction before.
Grace: You know, your life plan will always revolve around you, because I'm just a moving piece in it, but that's okay, because for me, I guess, I was using you too to survive.
Kabir: Survive what? What are you talking about?
Grace: But that isn't working anymore,...

Back in early 2020, before the pandemic had really started, CBC premiered Nurses, their new medical drama. A year later, it premiered in the U.S. on NBC. And we're so glad it did!
We're only halfway through the first season at this point, so we're still getting to know the characters, but so far, we love them all!
We didn't love Ashley Collins so much to begin with. she doesn't make the best first impression, but she's growing on us. The talented Natasha Calis play Ashley.
Natasha's been acting since age seven. She's known for her role in Box Office Hit, The Possession, and NBC's The Firm.
Natasha took some time to talk with us about Ashley's character and what she thinks people have gotten and will get out of the show.
