Bandai Namco's back catalog is full of fantastic RPGs, and one of the most popular might be getting a remaster soon. The publisher hasn't been shy about revisiting past titles in recent years, bringing back games in classic franchises ranging from Katamari to Pac-Man World. Bandai Namco has also kept up the pace of re-releasing Tales of games, which are comfort food classics for plenty of Jrpg fans.
X user Lowedelta shared an alleged screenshot of a Bandai Namco Europe live stream thumbnail with characters from Tales of Xillia, as reported by Push Square. The thumbnail shows an in-game character skit with a new font, suggesting the planned announcement of a Tales of Xillia remaster. According to the screenshot, a livestream on August 18 will presumably reveal this information.

Original Grimmstar Elizabeth Tulloch gives fans a major update on the series' hotly anticipated revival.
Speaking toTVLine, Tulloch responded to questions about the status of the series' long-awaited reboot with, "I know there's a script being written, and I know that [original star] David [Giuntoli] met with them. I don't think they would do a reboot or a spinoff or whatever it's going to be without David’s involvement."
"It's pretty exciting. A lot of people are sort of finding Grimm," Tulloch added, going on to note the sheer number of new fans that have espoused their love for the series to her at various conventions and other events. Regarding whether she would return to reprise either of her roles as romantic interest turned Hexenbeist Juliette Silverton or the enigmatic Eve from the show, Tulloch said, "I think it would depend on the script. Yeah, what their vision is for the character."

Kishore Kumar’s Bizarre Tales: From Signboards To Locking People In Cupboards(Photo Credit –Prime Video)
Did you know that Kishore Kumar, one of India’s most famous singers, had a funny signboard outside his house that said “Beware of Kishore”? Not just this, but Kishoreda, as he was lovingly called, has a history of many eccentric stories that have made his fans chuckle while admiring his quirks.

Kishore Kumar’s Hung ‘Beware Of Kishore’ Board
Kishore Kumar was not just an excellent singer but also a bit eccentric in a rather funny way. Instead of a usual “Beware of Dog” sign outside his house in Mumbai, he put up a sign that said “Beware of Kishore.” One of his anecdotes is that once producer-director H. S. Rawail, who owed Kumar some money, came to settle his dues.

Against the face of the obvious jokes about its name and nature, the "Walking Dead" franchise has walked, ran, and occasionally shambled along since its titular first show premiered in 2010. The horror-tinted post-apocalyptic drama has spawned so many spin-offs that /Film has a guide for the correct order to watch the "Walking Dead" shows, and there are absolutely no signs of the property stopping any time soon.
Out of the three multi-season "The Walking Dead" shows that have ended, the original enjoyed a very solid 11-season run and the first spin-off, "Fear the Walking Dead," tapped out after season 8. However, the second spin-off, "The Walking Dead: World Beyond," lasted only two seasons. The show -- which, unlike most "The Walking Dead" projects, focused on teenage characters -- ran from 2020 to 2021. While its short tenure might seem to indicate that it was a failed YA-themed experiment, "World Beyond" actually ended on its own terms.

It's an exciting time to be a fan of Stranger Things. Even though the hit Netflix original series has been off the air for what feels like a million years (but is actually only a little over three years), the franchise has continued with a stage show and an upcoming animated series spinoff ahead of the fifth and final series. There's some interesting news about the spinoff's depictions of iconic characters.
Netflix recently previewed the forthcoming animated spinoff Stranger Things: Tales from '85 and revealed new details about what to expect. The animated series has been described as a show following the characters we know and love battling new supernatural monsters in Hawkins and solving paranormal mysteries. It sounds similar to the show we have adored since day one.
But there could be some changes in store for Stranger Things: Tales from '85 that diehard fans of the series might not have anticipated.

New and returning characters are revealed in the first footage for Stranger Things: Tales from '85. As indicated by the title, the animated spinoff is set in the winter of 1985, which is between seasons 2 and 3 of the hit Netflix show. Matt and Ross Duffer, who created the original series, are executive producers for the project and have previously spoken about wanting the spinoff to be akin to the Saturday morning cartoons they grew up watching. Tales from '85 is happening in addition to the release of Stranger Things season 5, which will debut in November.

Tales of the Underworld has come and gone, kicking off the new speculation cycle of what the next Star Wars: Tales will be. So far, we've covered two Jedi who left the Jedi Order, two Imperials who gave in to hate or went to the light, and two fan favorite bounty hunters. So, I'd like to take a moment to pitch the next entry of the Tales franchise:
Tales of the Do's!
This idea first came from my co-podcaster in an off-hand joke. It was so off-hand that I still can't find which episode he brought it up. The basic idea of "Tales of the Do's" is Lando Calrissian and Hondo Ohnaka getting to be the scoundrel types they are, doing whatever they want.
The fun part of Tales of the Do's is that we know Hondo and Lando were both operating at the same time. Instead of the normal...

Marvel Comics feature an incredible array of characters, making it difficult to rank them by popularity or any other measure. To get meaningful results, you’d need a large sample of fans to weigh in.
With over a million votes on the list of superheroes, here’s a strong insight into which Marvel heroes truly stand out. Let’s take a look at the results.
10. Scarlet Witch
Even before the MCU, Scarlet Witch was already one of the most popular superheroes, though her role in comic history hasn’t always been on the right side. Tales of the Underworld did an excellent job of acknowledging Asajj Ventress's past and showed us a clear picture of where she is in her journey.
The show revealed that she returned from the dead thanks to her Nightsister roots. However, she had to sacrifice the love of her life, Quinlan Vos. Vos was shown taking Ventress's body to the Waters of Life on Dathomir. This wasn't the only time Vos played an important role in Ventress's story.
It was revealed that The Path, the underground network most fans probably remember from Obi-Wan Kenobi, was started by Quinlan Vos. The Path is a network that helped take many surviving Jedi and Force-sensitives to safety. During Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Jedi Master discovered Quinlan Vos's involvement with the network, but at the time, it wasn't revealed who founded it.

Tales of the Underworld became the latest addition to the Star Wars universe, with the new batch of episodes focusing on the galaxy’s criminal underworld. The latest season of the anthology series received positive reactions, leaving fans wanting more from the Tales format overseen by Dave Filoni.

The new episodes should focus on the Mandalorians, bringing to life some of the more unexplored stories of the warrior creed. Here is why Tales of the Mandalorians should be next on Filoni’s priority list and why it makes a lot of sense.

Since its beginning, the Star Wars: Tales series -- Tales of the Jedi, Empire, and now Tales of the Underworld -- has operated on the premise that in order to better understand familiar characters from a galaxy far, far away, we needed to experience more vignettes of their lives. These animated shorts have explored characters such as Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku, mostly showing never-before-seen key moments of their stories.
Tales of the Underworld, however, featured a slightly updated and arguably much better approach to the animated series' format. As with past Tales series, each of the two featured characters -- this time Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane -- got three episodes of story each. Unlike previous installments, however, Underworld linked all three episodes for each character together in one continuous, and thus much more impactful, story.

This article contains spoilers for "Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld."
There is good "Star Wars," and there is bad "Star Wars," and sometimes, you can get both in just a couple days. Right now, "Andor" season 2 is in the middle of its run, earning unprecedented critical praise for the franchise. At the same time, Lucasfilm has just released the third season of its "Tales" anthology -- a short-form animated show focusing on a different corner of the universe and pair of characters with each installment.
Following "Tales of the Jedi" in 2022 and "Tales of the Empire" in 2024, this year's Star Wars Day (May the 4th) brought "Tales of the Underworld," with three 15-ish-minute episodes each for Cad Bane (Corey Burton) and Asajj Ventress (Nika Futterman). And while those are two characters with plenty of room for development and expansion, the new series is almost completely inert. Where past "Tales...

When the “Tales” mini-series started to air every May the 4th, they felt like a gimmick to give the Lucasfilm Animation team a chance to revisit their favorite characters. In the years since, several of these shows have popped up, but with each year, Lucasfilm and the animation team push the boundaries of what is possible within their aesthetic and storytelling choices. With Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld, they may have cracked the code for the best kinds of stories, with two of the best Dave Filoni-era characters the galaxy has ever seen. With two more phenomenal stories for Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane, Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld represents a new high watermark for the animated mini-series.

The animated Tales Of… series in the Star Wars universe started off two for two. After the show successfully explored the paths of notable Jedi and then took a walk on the dark side, this third set of short stories turns its focus to the underground, where Asajj Ventress (Nika Futterman) and Cad Bane (Corey Burton) reside. With the six episodes ranging from 12 to 17 minutes long, split evenly among the two headliners, it’s another slickly packaged Star Wars bundle from creator Dave Filoni that does a lot with a little.
Ventress’ story follows on from the in-canon novel Dark Disciple and sees her form a relationship with spirited Padawan Lyco Strata (Lane Factor) post-Order 66 as they look for a secret path to find hidden Jedi. The mismatched duo are a fun hang, with Lyco constantly picking away at Ventress’ hardened exterior on the inevitable path to genuine friendship across three episodes.

This article has slight spoilers about Tales of the Underworld based on early reports about the show from Star Wars Celebration Japan.
The next addition of the Tales series is just days away-- unless you want to watch it on Fortnite. Yes, that is a thing that is happening, and we sure did have some thoughts about it. The latest anthology, Tales of the Underworld, will focus on bounty hunters Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. Long-time Ventress voice actress Nika Futterman shared with StarWars.com her excitement for her character's return and what fans should expect from the series.
Ever since her surprise appearance in The Bad Batch's Season 3 trailer, the creators were very clear up front that they would be honoring Ventress' story in Dark Disciple, the novel by Christie Golden, which wrapped up the Sith assassin turned morally grey bounty hunter's story from The Clone Wars. In the book,...

As many parallels are often drawn between Star Wars stories, let's look at the concept of hope in Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire. Both focus on fan-favorite heroes and villains, with the latter exhibiting more of a cautionary tale of straying down a dark path. There are also stories of former Jedi who managed to find their way back to the light.
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi has three episodes featuring Ahsoka Tano of The Clone Wars fame and three episodes of former Jedi Count Dooku, whereas Star Wars: Tales of the Empire has three episodes of Morgan Elsbeth of the Ahsoka series and Barriss Offee a former Jedi who betrayed Ahsoka in The Clone Wars.
Both Tales have moments of tragedy, whether it’s Yaddle losing in a battle to Dooku or Morgan’s Mother losing in a battle to General Grievous. Both villains...

Originally debuting in the late Dave Wolverton's 1994 Legends novel The Courtship of Princess Leia, the Nightsisters, a coven of witches from the planet Dathomir, have evolved into one of the most compelling factions within the vast Star Wars universe. Among these witches are iconic characters like Asajj Ventress, Merrin, and Morgan Elsbeth. The Nightsisters have been players in the franchise since Star Wars Legends and series like The Clone Wars. However, we recently got to see another addition from Dathomir in Tales of the Empire with the Mountain Clan.
The Nightsisters, like the Jedi and the Sith, are Force wielders, but these witches harness the Force's power much differently: as dark magick. This coven also has something else in common with the Jedi and Sith, a more virtuous rival: the Mountain Clan. The Mountain Clan calls on the power of the Force to use their magicks for defense, not attack.

I wasn't a huge fan of Morgan Elsbeth's backstory in Tales of the Empire. I enjoyed Grand Admiral Thrawn's cameo, but there could've been so much more to his appearance in the show.
If half the series had focused on Grand Admiral Thrawn's backstory and his vision for the galaxy instead of Barriss Offee and the other half had been about Morgan, then it would've tied their stories and motives together nicely. Even though Timothy Zahn's novels focus on Grand Admiral Thrawn and a major character in Star Wars Rebels, that doesn't guarantee that everyone has read the books and watched every series.

The Clone Wars has cast a long shadow.
The legacy of a single animated series that began in 2008 stretches to this very day. In an age where high-quality, story-driven 3D animation was a rarity, The Clone Wars stood as a unique example of what was capable from a medium often overlooked as a means of juvenile entertainment.
As of today, that legacy has produced hundreds of episodes of high-quality, story-driven content, which we continue to see in The Bad Batch, Star Wars Rebels, Star Wars Resistance, Tales of the Jedi, and now in its sequel series, the much-anticipated Tales of the Empire.
This feels like an inevitable next step for the realm of The Clone Wars animation style and storytelling. If expressed as a continuous saga across all the programs that share this same animation style, we see a story, broad and deep, stretching from the dying days of the...

Time stands still once again as John Carpenter’s Tales of Science Fiction: Pause returns for its third issue, landing in comic shops on April 30. The latest instalment in Storm King Comics’ long-running anthology series sees the strange odyssey of Henry Jacobs plunge deeper into the chaos of a frozen New York City, where danger is suspended in mid-motion and the line between survivor and opportunist begins to blur.
The concept is deceptively simple. One man, alone in a world suddenly stuck in time, forced to reckon with the isolation, freedom and responsibility of being the only person who can still move, until he learns he isn’t. From that core idea, Pause has spun a tension-filled tale that taps into both the existential horror and urban survivalist thrills that John Carpenter’s name has come to represent.
In Issue 3, Henry, having unfrozen a small group of allies – including his brother Derrick,...

For a show that revolves around monsters, psychic powers, and other dimensions, Stranger Things, for the most part, has been pretty grounded with its approach to storytelling. This mostly stems from its depiction of the ’80s lifestyle, which has been ingrained in its identity, and the way the characters bounce off each other gives the story a touch of reality, even in the face of supernatural elements.
Ironically, it’s one trivial aspect that really stretches the viewers’ suspension of disbelief, as it stands out as a sore thumb on two occasions, and has to deal with the gang’s purchase of firearms.

Star Wars fans now have the opportunity to experience one of the franchise's best shows, Star Wars: Rebels, at no cost, as full episodes have begun being uploaded onto YouTube.
After starting as primarily a film franchise (with a couple of outliers sprinkled in), Star Wars now has well over a dozen TV shows in its library, with more being released all the time.
For example, new episodes of Andor are currently being released on Tuesdays on Disney+, and a brand new animated installment of the Tales series (called Tales of the Underworld) is set to premiere on May 4.

Over the last twenty years, some of the best stories told in Star Wars have come from Lucasfilm Animation, the George Lucas founded animation studio responsible for such fan favourite series as The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch, and the ongoing Tales Of... anthology miniseries. And that legacy of ambitious storytelling is set to continue apace, as at the studio's Star Wars Celebration 20th anniversary panel earlier today, Lucasfilm Cco Dave Filoni and Lucasfilm Animation president Athena Portillo — with the help of one Sam Witwer — announced the next major animated Star Wars show, Maul: Shadow Lord.
Set in the aftermath of the events of The Clone Wars, Maul: Shadow Lord is set to see Sam Witwer reprise the role of the horned Dathomiri Sith Lord as he pursues power in the criminal underworld of that galaxy far, far away. A warped love letter to the Bay Area’s raw energy and rebel spirit, Freaky Tales arrives in select UK cinemas from 18 April before hitting digital platforms on 28 April. Directed and written by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the filmmaking duo behind Half Nelson and Captain Marvel, the new feature throws a Molotov cocktail of styles into a vibrant, blood-splattered mixtape of mayhem.
Set in 1987 Oakland, Freaky Tales delivers four interlocking stories, each one pulsing to its own beat but building towards a shared crescendo. The film moves between an underground rap duo trying to break out, a disgraced cop skimming the surface of violence, a grieving teen punk bent on revenge, and an NBA star caught in a moral quagmire. It’s a world in flux, where fantasy bleeds into reality, and battles play out on the graffitied backstreets of a city cracking at the seams.

The internet erupted last week with the announcement of Tales of the Underworld, the next installment of the Tales series. This outing features the two fan favorite bounty hunters, Cad Bane and Asajj Ventress. Immediately with the reveal of the trailer, people were discussing whether or not this will explore one of the biggest mysteries ever since Season 3 of The Bad Batch: How did Ventress come back from the dead?
Personally, I hope we never find out how she did it.
Now, to be clear, Tales would be the best format to explore this story. An anthology episode is the perfect way to tackle this mystery in about 12-15 minutes. I just hope they don't.
My reason is that I don't think everything in Star Wars needs an answer, especially in a space fantasy. Star Wars is a mythology, and it has magic built into its very core. Well,...

Any adaptation, whether from a video game or not, inherently comes with plenty of creative risks. Not only does the movie or show have to try to cater to those already familiar with the source material, but it also has to introduce the concept and story for those unfamiliar with it to be a successful body of work separate from what inspired it. The HBO series The Last of Us had an incredibly successful and award-winning first season thanks to the delicate balance it achieved of staying faithful to the themes and critical story beats of the same while also expanding and even changing certain characters and story events to make for a better television series.
Now, showrunner Craig Mazin has spoken about how he doesn't want to stray from the source material by making the series go past the events of the mainline games released thus far. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,...

(Welcome to Tales from the Box Office, our column that examines box office miracles, disasters, and everything in between, as well as what we can learn from them.)
"'A Goofy Movie' is probably the most unexpected Disney film to have ever garnered cult classic status." Those are the words of Lex Briscuso writing for /Film in 2022, and she had a point. Released in 1995, the film is centered on Goofy, who was, for decades, a supporting character in the larger Disney animated universe. Yet, 30 years ago, he got to take center stage in a theatrical feature film that is a father/son tale, a road trip comedy, a musical, a love story, and at times perhaps the best animated concert film ever made.

"'A Goofy Movie' is probably the most unexpected Disney film to have ever garnered cult classic status." Those are the words of Lex Briscuso writing for /Film in 2022, and she had a point. The trailer for Star Wars' new animated series, Tales of the Underworld, already confirmed that a new Inquisitor will be introduced, meaning that the galaxy far, far away will now include at least 16 named Inquisitors in canon.
After Tales of the Jedi was a major success for Lucasfilm on Disney+, the company decided to follow up with Tales of the Empire. It was recently announced that a third Tales of project will soon be released, this time focusing on the mysterious underworld in the galaxy.
Tales of the Underworld is set to release on Disney+ on May 4, also known as Star Wars Day. The series will be comprised of six shorts and will seemingly focus on Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. Most likely, three shorts will center around Ventress and the other three on Bane.

Tales of the Underworld was announced earlier this week, which was a surprise to me. Not because I didn't think that they wouldn't do another Tales series. It's more that it broke the pattern.
For the last four years, Tales and Star Wars: Visions have alternated their release order. Visions has been the odd years, and Tales were the even one. If the pattern continued, then Tales would have come out in 2026 with Visions having the 2025 slot.
So then, when is Visions coming out if Tales took its slot this year?
I know we're more than likely going to get a release date announcement for Star Wars: Visions Season 3 at Star Wars Celebration Japan in just a couple of weeks. But where is the fun in waiting when we can just speculate on a possible date?
If I had to guess, we are getting both anthology shows this year because...

"The Walking Dead" isn't what it once was, but it's still quite active if you know where to look. Sure, the end of the mainline series and key spin-offs like "Fear the Walking Dead" marked a downturn in overall cultural attention — a trend that began years before the original AMC show actually left the air — but diehard fans are still tuning in. Spin-offs like "The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon" and "Dead City" continue to get renewed, proving that while the zombie franchise may not be the mainstream powerhouse it once was, it still has plenty of supporters.
One of the more interesting "Walking Dead" shows in recent years is the anthology series "Tales of the Walking Dead," which ran for a single six-episode season back in 2022. The format of one-off stories brought in some big names as single-episode guest stars, including Anthony Edwards, Terry Crews, and Daniella Pineda. While there...

We have more Star Wars to look forward to on May the Fourth this year, as Star Wars announced its return to animation with another chapter in the Tales anthology series. Fans had guessed correctly that the series would focus on bounty hunters next, after focusing on the lives of two Jedi, followed by two who worked for the Empire.
I'm thrilled to see more of Asajj Ventress, as she's been my favorite since The Clone Wars. The Bad Batch Season 3 brought her back and teased the possibility of her training Omega, but Tales of the Underworld seems to confirm that she will have a Padawan of her own. A young Padawan with a blue lightsaber is introduced in the trailer.

It's New "Star Wars" Trailer Day! This time, Lucasfilm Animation has hit us with a flashy announcement promo for "Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld," the third series in the franchise's ongoing animated anthology project on Disney+. The first of those, "Tales of the Jedi," came out back in 2022, while the second, "Tales of the Empire," premiered in 2024 on May 4, known by fans as Star Wars Day.
"Tales of the Underworld" will be making a tradition of that release date, with the series dropping on Disney+ in time to commemorate Star Wars Day 2025. And like its predecessors, it will be a six-episode miniseries divided between two characters -- in this instance, the former Sith Assassin Asajj Ventress and legendary bounty hunter Cad Bane.
Simply by putting those two fan favorites in starring roles, "Tales of the Underworld" seems to be making up for some of their recent appearances in other "Star Wars" shows.
