"Rum för sjuka själar" (Spaces for ailing souls) is an unusual documentary about the history of psychiatry and mental health. The strength lies in the fact that it does not - in a traditionally politically correct way - fall into digital criticism of what has been. Zeros and ones are united in a way that allows for both reflection and understanding. The alternatives were worse. We did the best you could. We used the methods that were the best at the time. The same staff who necessarily had to limit the autonomy of violent patients, also protected their integrity. We have a lot to learn from their sense of balance.
