    Inherent Resolve

Dark Wolf is a prequel to The Terminal List. With Taylor Kitsch as the lead as ben Edwards.

Set in 2015 and starting off with a funeral montage.

Edwards finds that someone is playing the Al-Jabouri playbook. One of the interpreters Daran Amiri could had gone to America with his family. He opts to stay.

Now his family has been kidnapped unless Amiri sacrifices his own life by taking a bomb into a military camp inside his false leg.

Edwards go rogue once they find out that his superiors are protecting someone in exchange for information.

Based on novels by someone who served in the military. Enough time has passed from the Iran/Afghan invasion for a more cynical and darker take on events.

Events are shades of grey here. This became evident later on in the opening episode.

Until then I found it rather average with an emphasis on action/battle scenes.

At least it ended with a more promising tone for the rest of the series.

    Absolutely Amazing!

This episode really set the bar for the rest of the season. Looking forward to the next episode. It's just amazing, my heart kept racing watching especially getting to the end. Amazing prequel, can't for the next season on the official Terminal List either. Anyway doubting how good this will be will not be disappointed.

A reminder of what TV can actually br

Every bit as good as the original season. We always knew Ben had a compelling backstory so the prequel actually seems like it answers existing questions instead of something contrived. Great action, great character development. Enough new characters to keep us engaged while still expanding on existing characters.

A Gritty, Powerful Start to Ben Edwards' Story

Dark Wolf opens with intensity and purpose. The first episode delivers gripping action rooted in authenticity, while also slowing down enough to explore the weight of loyalty, betrayal, and the toll of combat. Taylor Kitsch is outstanding as Ben Edwards-layered, conflicted, and deeply human. The tactical realism is top-notch, clearly shaped by veteran input, and the cinematography gives the series a grounded, cinematic feel.

Rather than rushing, the premiere lays a thoughtful foundation for Ben's journey, showing how brotherhood collides with bureaucracy and how small decisions ripple into life-changing consequences. Fans of The Terminal List series both Amazon and books will find the same grit and heart here, with even deeper character exploration. This episode is an explosive yet emotional beginning to a worthy spinoff.

At 47 minutes Ben Edwards is yelling at the SEAL Commander after being dismissed and clearly being insubordinate. This would not be tolerated and it's highly doubtful a seasoned SEAL Chief like Edwards would behave in this manner. In the real world he would have been punished.
