"Classic Obama"? WHAT "Classic Obama"?
"Classic Obama" is the term used by one of the speakers in this show, as if Obama's tenure spans for decades, not mere four years of doing nothing worth speaking of.
This is a French show and when the French, the notorious closet-commies, rain accolades over the latest wonder of US presidency then you know what time it is.
Portrayed as a man who can do no wrong with only slight bouts of risk-taking and crisis-handling, Obama has been treated with a propaganda movie crammed with people ranging from apologists to exalted followers. To "balance" the flick for "objectivity", apologists were tasked to sneak in mild criticisms which they hastily dismiss right in the next sentence.
True, a mere year after the documentary (or shall I say "mockumentary") was done, Obama's reign took a brash swing into sinister borderline dictatorship, and although the crew might not have known it at the time - all the signs were there even back then. I don't think they would care, though, worse yet, they'd welcome it. In any case they have no clue, just as anybody else enamored of states and governments.
One could argue that USA is becoming a socialist state, although they don't call it that way. Negative results of the process are readily apparent to everybody that isn't a socialist. Social security and much abused food stamps are already there. Soon to be implemented "mandatory" medical security, or "Obamacare" (which an idiot lady in the show already proclaimed to be "the greatest US achievement in history") will put additional pressure on an extremely strained taxpaying population. Pending gun control legislation, marketed as "security on the streets", will make sure that citizens are silenced when the next wave of "reforms" takes place. Forget "US-A": another "US-SR" is just around the corner, that's about the only thing secure in this mess called "running the country".
I'm sure the French film crew will be elated once that happens. Perhaps that's the reason for "Great Expectations" in the title. The tone of their little piece might put North Korean propaganda machine to shame. Unfortunately, a lot of people will be fooled into thinking that this was journalism.
Obama will be found out in time, and to retort to one chick in front of the camera: no, nobody will in 40 years look back on him as anything "great". He'll be put in the same bin, together with GWB, as one of those who have helped drive the last nails in the coffin of once great economy. At best. What with China owning half of US debt and Russia owning one third of US currency, and US itself depleting its might through endless foreign wars, things might unravel in such a way that he perhaps will not be remembered at all. And USA along with him.
As for anybody reading this, I meant for this article to be a useful 5-minute read. People that are able to see through lies of US administration already know the score. Others might just look elsewhere for an objective portrayal of another liar in the White House.
