Space 11, the space media company founded by producer Andrea Iervolino in 2021, has unveiled the first feature film project heading into development following the arrival of former NASA film liaison Bert Ulrich on its team last month.

Titled I See You and billed by Space 11 as “the greatest love story ever told… in space”, the film will be approximately 85% shot using real footage captured outside the earth’s atmosphere.

Prolific Italian producer Andrea Iervolino has hired former NASA film liaison Bert Ulrich to turbocharge his race to space via his Space 11 Corp. banner.

Ulrich as executive vp of production development and communications will oversee efforts to produce and film movie, TV and web content, including live concerts and sports, in outer space.

“Bert is a visionary in space storytelling. His experience is invaluable in taking Space 11 to the next level and inspiring audiences around the world,” Iervolino, a veteran film producer with credits like Michael Radford’s The Merchant of Venice, said in a statement on Thursday.

Space 11 is a subsidiary of Iervolino’s film and TV company Iervolino Entertainment. Ulrich brings two decades of work at NASA as the agency’s liaison for films and documentaries that required support like The Martian, First Man, Hidden Figures, Ad Astra, Fly Me to the Moon and the upcoming Project Hail Mary project.

Universal’s “Jurassic World Rebirth,” the seventh in the historic franchise, took a T-Rex-sized bite out of the box office with $26 million domestically from 6,105 venues on the Fourth of July. The Friday numbers were bolstered by an already solid performance since its initial release on July 2, earning $55.8 million before the weekend even began. Projections have “Rebirth” earning north of $140 million by Sunday, which would slot it as the seventh-highest domestic earner of 2025. The Universal camp needs the holiday momentum to continue through the coming weeks, considering the film’s production budget hovers around $180 million, not including marketing. Domestic gross over the traditional three-day frame is projected at $85 million.

While “Rebirth” is king of the box office this week, it actually had the lowest opening of any of the “Jurassic World” installments.

Apple Studios is scoring its biggest opening ever with the Brad Pitt racing thriller “F1,” headed for first in its box office debut. Meanwhile, Universal’s “M3GAN 2.0” isn’t catching the same spark in its opening, projecting a fourth place start behind holdovers “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Elio.”

On top, “F1” hit the track with $25 million across Friday and previews from 3,661 locations. The movie is playing in Imax auditoriums and most other premium-large formats too. Apple outsourced distribution here, partnering with Warner Bros. The team-up has made a splash.

Industry tracking was all over the place for “F1,” given the relative rarity of big-budget adult-skewing productions outside of established film franchises (though the Formula One Group’s branding and grand prix racing tournaments are still globally popular IP — the basis for most summer tentpoles). “F1” is now on pace to hit the upper end of its pre-weekend forecasts,...

There are currently a lot of IMAX tickets sold for the Thursday and Friday screenings of the F1 The Movie. The premium format is said to be a very immersive experience for the film and our own Chris Bumbray glowed in his 9/10 review that it’s “one of the most awe-inspiring works of pure spectacle seen on the big screen in years. It’s stunning to look at, and the IMAX ratio makes the racing scenes feel like a rollercoaster ride.” He also stated, “It can’t be denied that F1 is an absolute rollercoaster ride of a movie, and – like Sinners – helps make the case for theatres still being essential to a particular kind of filmmaking. Hopefully, this is the blockbuster hit it deserves to be.”

Apple Original Films F1 via Warner Bros. sped to $10M in total previews from this week while Universal/Blumhouse/Atomic Monster’s M3GAN 2.0 drew $1.5M.

The Joseph Kosinski directed, Jerry Bruckheimer produced Formula One movie starring Brad Pitt, arguably the first of its kind tentpole for Apple Original Films on the big screen, bested the preview grosses of such Apple expensive movies as Ridley Scott’s Napoleon ($3M), Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon ($2.6M), Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle ($1.7M) and Greg Berlanti’s Fly Me to the Moon ($875K). F1 also smokes the previews of another racing car movie, the multi Oscar winning, solid grossing Ford v. Ferrari which is actually a high point for the struggling car sports genre at the box office; the best that there has been in recent times.

That’s partially the work of a team led by Nick Dyer, the show’s head of digital and supervising producer. This year “The Tonight Show” saw 9.2 billion views across social media from June 1, 2024 to May 30, 2025, marking a 55% rise compared to the same time period last year, TheWrap has exclusively learned.

Scarlett Johansson is one of the most important actors in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, having portrayed Black Widow, aka Natasha Romanoff, on screen for over a decade. The character (spoilers?) eventually died in 2019's "Avengers: Endgame," and while Johansson returned to the role two years later in the movie "Black Widow" (which takes place before "Endgame" in the McU's timeline), she has made it clear Black Widow herself is going to stay dead. All the same, it previously appeared as though Johansson had since reunited with Marvel Studios, having landed an executive producer credit on 2025's "Thunderbolts*." However, it turns out that she tried to have that credit removed.

Johansson touched on this while speaking to "Thunderbolts*" star David Harbour, who made his MCU debut in "Black Widow," in a piece for Interview Magazine. The two spoke on the very day that "Thunderbolts*" hit theaters and had a good-natured exchange about it.

Mark Tremonti has announced an appearance at the legendary Belmont Stakes horse race on Saturday (June 7th) in Saratoga Springs, New York. Plus, the Creed/Alter Bridge guitarist also announced four “Tremonti Sings Sinatra” headlining dates for December.

Sony Pictures Entertainment’s operating income for the full fiscal year ended March 31 fell 4 percent to $774 million from $808 million in dollar terms for the comparable period a year before, with Fy sales dipping 4 percent to $9.899 billion from $10.315 billion.
