If this comes to your film festival put it on your list as a MUST SEE! You will not be disappointed! The first thing that struck me was the magnificent cinematography! It took my breath away! And that is no exaggeration. I had to remind myself that this was created by so-called students! Well, Hollywood, go back to school and learn what these incredible artists have learned because they transform the audience with the quality and beauty of the filming of each scene and moment the eye observes on the screen. For that alone the film is well worth seeing! But, there is more...
The plot is clever, cute, and funny! And is very well written for a student production. Again, I had to remind myself that it was made by students. OK, yes it did get a little bit boring in one small part, but that was only for a very, tiny, little bit! And I honestly didn't mind because the actors are so engaging and funny that I could get past the momentary lapse!
The actors are loved by the camera, particularly Dylan Travers, whose chiseled jaw could hold its own with a younger Brad Pitt! And he can act! He has a good range and flexibility of character to be convincing as he takes the audience from believing he is a young man of conscience and conviction refusing to engage in premarital sex of any kind despite the temptations presented, to a quivering, shivering, self-righteous little prig of a mama's boy! And surprisingly, he doesn't over-act the part, or overdo his role. He's quite convincing. He is someone to watch, no doubt. You can see that he will be someone to watch. Its obvious he will go places in life, I just wonder where...
His stalker is played by the lovely Aurora Heimbach, also loved by the camera, as is her side-kick, the beautifully captivating and talented Ayodele Tushinde! Their performances are well done and they are perfectly cast for their roles. They pack as much into character development as possible given the fact that this is a short film and they do a really good job with what they have been given.
The Director/Author/Cinematographer is someone to watch! You cannot have all of this going on in your head without there being a whole lot more inside just waiting to break out! So, I for one am going to continue to bide my time and wait for all of these young and VERY talented ARTISTS to grow and present themselves little by little to the world.
