An entertaining series opener.

The team are shocked when Jack strolls back into their lives, following his exploits with The Doctor. Jack's arrival coincides with the arrival of fellow time agent, Captain John Hart, who's in town to settle an old score.

It's very camp, it's very entertaining and it's actually very well paced. Kiss kiss, bang bang may not be a classic, hugely memorable episode, but it was the perfect start to the new series.

It of course features James Marsters, so naturally it's sexy and highly charged, and for my money, he puts in a really good shift, bouncing off Barrowman very well.

Good that we finally learn a little more about Jack's past, up until this point we knew relatively quite a little about him, Barrowman rocks here.

Some of the special effects look a little rough around the edges now, but for 2008, it looks and sounds good.

On a personal note, I love seeing all my old Cardiff haunts, so many places long since gone, 2008, it was a great place for a weekend away.
