Broke into the industry by working as Designing Women (1986) star Dixie Carter's personal assistant. She would later guest star on his series, Desperate Housewives (2004), as Gloria Hodge, and was nominated for an Emmy as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

I was washed up. People just weren't excited by my name... That's one of the reasons I had to write something really smart.... That desperation you feel permeating the script is pretty real.
