Exclusive: Madeline Delp (Ballroom), Rob Delaney (Dying for Sex), and Ray Fisher (The Piano Lesson) are new additions to Being Heumann, Apple’s civil rights drama based on the bestselling memoir from disability activist Judy Heumann.
The trio joins previously announced stars Ruth Madeley, Mark Ruffalo and Dylan O’Brien in the cast. Delp will play disability rights activist Kitty Cone, with Fisher as the Black Panther Party’s Chuck Johnson, and Delaney as Congressman Miller. Being Heumann follows Heumann as she leads over a hundred disabled people to take over the San Francisco Federal Building, kicking off a 28-day sit-in in 1977. It has now been several weeks since the chaotic and unsatisfying finale of Doctor Who Season 2, and fans are still no closer to learning the fate of their beloved timey-wimey show. Following what seems to be the culmination of the lackluster Disney era of the series, despite no confirmation of Disney's departure being announced, Russell T. Davies' second era at the helm quite possibly couldn't have gone much worse.
Dropping viewing figures, frustrations behind the scenes, and a rushed ending to accommodate Ncuti Gatwa's early exit have all come together to create palpable uncertainty from within the Whoniverse, as millions of fans desperately seek any sign of what's to come. Well, in the latest suggestion of the show's future, one of its more recent stars is offering a defiant stand against cancellation rumors. BAFTA nominee Ruth Madeley will star as disability rights activist Judy Heumann in Academy Award winner Siân Heder’s upcoming feature “Being Heumann” for Apple Original Films.

Ruth Madeley will play disability rights activist Judy Heumann in the Apple movie Being Heumann from Coda director Sian Heder.
The BAFTA-nominated actress will play Heumann as she leads over a hundred disabled people to take over the San Francisco Federal Building, kicking off a 28-day sit-in. The protest led to the enforcement of section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which required all federal spaces to become accessible. Heumann, known as “the mother of the disability rights movement,” was a central architect of the Americans with Disabilities Act. She died in 2023 at the age of 75.
The film is based on Heumann’s best-selling memoir of the same name, which Heder and Rebekah Taussig adapted for the screen.

BAFTA Award nominee Ruth Madeley (Don’t Take My Baby) is set to portray famed disability activist Judy Heumann in Apple Original Films’ Being Heumann, an adaptation of Heumann’s bestselling memoir from Coda Oscar winner Siân Heder.
Being Heumann follows Heumann as she leads over a hundred disabled people to take over the San Francisco Federal Building, kicking off a 28 day sit-in in 1977. The protestors quickly form a tightly bound community, refusing to leave until the government enforces section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, which required all federal spaces to become accessible.
Heumann used a wheelchair for most of her life after contracting polio at 18 months old. She encountered discrimination early, including being denied the right to attend public school because she was considered a “fire hazard,” and was galvanized by these experiences to get involved with the fight for disability rights. In 1970, Heumann successfully sued the New York Board...

Episode 2 of Doctor Who Season 2 is titled "Lux." In it, the Doctor and Belinda travel to 1952 Miami as they investigate the disappearance of 15 people from the Palazzo Picture Palace. These latest images feature Ncuti Gatwa and Varada Sethu, dressed in 1950s fashion, and meet Reginald Pye, played by Linus Roache. In the upcoming second season of Doctor Who, Andor star Varada Sethu returns to the series as the Doctor's new companion, Belinda Chandra.
Sethu recently caught up with Radio Times (via SFFGazette.com) and shared her thoughts on fans saying the long-running sci-fi series has gone "woke" with its inclusive casting (which has been at the forefront since Russell T. Davies returned to the show).
"Woke just means inclusive, progressive and that you care about people," she said. "And, as far as I know, the core of Doctor Who is kindness, love and doing the right thing."
The fact Sethu, who is British-Indian, is being paired with lead star Ncuti Gatwa means Doctor Who season 2 will be the first time two people of color have piloted the Tardis together since the series' creation. "Ncuti was like, 'Look at us. We get to be in the Tardis. We’re going to piss off so many people,...

Only a few weeks remain until the next installment of Doctor Who enters Disney+. Starring Ncuti Gatwaas the Fifteenth Doctor and Russell T. Davies as the series showrunner, this next installment will feature eight new episodes and a new companion. Now, we know what these new episode titles are called, hinting at what's to come in this "wibbly wobbly, timey wimey" British science fiction series.
According to the official Doctor Who website, Season 2's episode titles are "The Robot Revolution," "Lux," "The Well," "Lucky Day," "The Story & The Engine," "The Interstellar Song Contest," "Wish World," and "The Reality War." While the plot for most of these episodes remains unknown for the time being, it is safe to assume that the sixth episode takes inspiration from The Eurovision Song Contest. Two seasons deep into this newest iteration of "Doctor Who," 15 since the revival series first kicked off, and a whopping 26 since the franchise first arrived back in 1963, the beloved sci-fi/fantasy series is about to go where it never has before: into another medium entirely. Ncuti Gatwa's casting as the newest Doctor and Varada Sethu's as the newest companion Belinda Chandra were both instant hits, but it wouldn't be proper "Who" without an unexpected twist or two. This time around, the joint BBC/Disney production is getting animated on us -- literally.

As we first reported on SFFGazette.com, Doctor Who will return with its second season on Saturday, April 12 on Disney+ where available and exclusively on the BBC and BBC iPlayer in the UK. New episodes from the eight-episode season will be released weekly.
In season 2, the Doctor meets Belinda Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time-traveling Tardis team must face great dangers, bigger enemies and wider terrors than ever before.
It's also been revealed that Emmy Award winner Alan Cumming will guest star in the second episode as Mr Ring-a-Ding, a happy, funny, singalong cartoon, who lives in Sunny Town with his friend Sunshine Sally.
However, in 1952, after years of repeats in cinemas across the land, Mr Ring-a-Ding suddenly looks beyond the screen and sees the real world outside - and the consequences are terrifying.
