As the United States is torn apart by a religious war over abortion, a group of strangers comes together in an underground coffee shop to escape the outside civil war. Homeless prophet Matthew 'the Messiah' Collins is trying to find a solution to all the worlds problems, but he keeps getting distracted by petty concerns and love affairs. A sacrifice by blood from one of his friends will lead him to a desperate act and finally the creation of a new religion that may save the world.
