Born and raised in Hong Kong, Anselm Chan is a renowned screenwriter within the Hong Kong film and television industry, an up-and-coming director, and a member of the Hong Kong Screenwriters' Guild .
In 2018, mainland China online media platform "iQIYI" invited Anselm to write the screenplay for a television drama series based on the classic Chinese martial arts novel "THE LOST SWORDSHIP" . The series went on to become a hit, and he was critiqued as Screenwriter with Most Commercial Value for the annual Online Drama Series Rankings List in 2018, and in the same year, ranked 10th Best Online Drama Series Screenwriter, nationwide in China.
In addition, Anselm published his first original suspense novel in 2013, titled "ANCHOR", and sales went through the roof in the East Asia region, including Taiwan, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. The novel is on its way to a second printing, and an English translated version to follow, as well as a Simplified Chinese version for the mainland China region.
With plans to bring "ANCHOR" to the big screen and directing it himself, Anselm traveled to Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the United States to study hypnosis extensively on a professional level. He has been awarded certification from the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners (A.C.H.E.) as a registered hypnotherapist, and is also registered under the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) as a hypnotherapist and certified instructor on the subject.
