Seth Markman is a vice president of production for ESPN. He oversees all NFL studio shows, including the Emmy Award-winning Sunday NFL Countdown, Monday Night Countdown, NFL Live, NFL PrimeTime and Fantasy Football Now. In 2017, Markman also added oversight of the company's Major League Baseball studio coverage.
In addition to managing all content, planning, budgeting and staffing for NFL programs, Markman is responsible for ESPN's annual on-site coverage of the Super Bowl, as well as coverage of the NFL Draft and Pro Football Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.
Markman has been instrumental in helping ESPN attract top NFL experts to its talent roster. Some of his most important hires have included Countdown analysts Matt Hasselbeck, Randy Moss and Charles Woodson, Front Office Insider Louis Riddick and Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Similar to his role on NFL, Markman oversees ESPN's MLB studio production, including Baseball Tonight and on-site coverage of major events like the All-Star Game and World Series.
Markman has overseen all ESPN NFL studio shows since March 2011. During the four seasons prior to that, he was senior coordinating producer of Monday Night Countdown and NFL Live. His leadership played an integral role in Monday Night Countdown's first-ever Sports Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Weekly Studio Show category in 2008 - and again in 2018.
Markman has earned five Sports Emmy awards in his career. He joined ESPN in June 1993 as a production assistant and was subsequently promoted to associate producer (1995-96), highlights supervisor (1996-98), producer (1998-2002), coordinating producer (2002-07) and senior coordinating producer (2007-18) before being elevated to his current vice president position in October 2018.
A native of Hightstown, N.J., Markman is a graduate of Syracuse University, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast journalism and history in 1993.
