Emily in Paris is back and this time, she’s taking on Rome. Netflix has shared the first look at season 5 along with the release date, giving fans a reason to get excited.

When we last saw Emily, played by Lily Collins, she had left Paris behind to enjoy life in Italy. At the end of season 4, she decided to move to Rome and take charge at the Agence Grateau office there. But as usual, Emily’s life is far from calm, and her new role comes with plenty of drama and challenges.

Netflix has confirmed that Emily in Paris season 5 will premiere on 18th December 2025. The official synopsis says, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city. But just as everything falls into place, a work idea backfires, and the fallout cascades into heartbreak and career setbacks.

Fans of Emily in Paris can start counting down because the show is coming back with a new season and a fresh location. Netflix has revealed the first look at season 5, along with the release date.

The last time we saw Emily, played by Lily Collins, she had left Paris to spend time in Italy. She moved to Rome and took the lead at the Agence Grateau office there, hoping for a new start away from all the Paris drama. But as always, Emily’s life isn’t exactly calm, and her adventures in Rome promise plenty of twists.

Season 5 is set to premiere on Netflix on 18th December 2025, giving viewers a chance to catch up with Emily’s latest experiences before the year ends.

According to the official synopsis, “Now the head of Agence Grateau Rome, Emily faces professional and romantic challenges as she adapts to life in a new city.

Chicago Pd has never really tried to give Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) a romantic interest. Bringing something original to the genre is significantly harder, which is why Belgian writer-director Valéry Carnoy deserves kudos for making his feature début, Wild Foxes (La Danse des renards), stand apart from your typical testosterone-fueled slugfest.

He stages the action within a highly special location: an elite French sports-études boarding school where teenage athletes are selected to train throughout their high school years. The public institution seems to weigh as heavily on the young fighters as all the punches they take in the ring, driving them toward acts of desperation or self-sabotage as they try to becomes pros.

A movie with a star-studded cast, rich literary source material, and lavish visuals sounds great on paper! In Secret had all these elements and could have been a gripping period drama about forbidden love and people’s descent into psychological ruin.

In the ever-dramatic world of Bravo, where scandal flows more freely than champagne at a reunion episode, cheating almost feels like a rite of passage, with some shaking foundations more than others. Samuel Kircher, the breakout star of Catherine Breillat’s Last Summer, stars as Camille, a talented young boxer at a sports boarding school who narrowly survives a fatal accident, saved by his best friend Matteo (Faycal Anaflous). But after a swift recovery, Camille is struck by an inexplicable pain that gradually takes hold of him, threatening his dreams of greatness. In the world he knows, in the ring and outside it, there’s no room for weakness.

Carnoy’s 2021 short film Titan was a hit on the international festival circuit, screening in more than a hundred international festivals and winning more than 30 awards.

Emily in Paris is the kind of fluffy dramedy with a lot of heart that Netflix does well. The series might have become bigger than anyone expected, but we only have ourselves to blame for that. Are some of the relationships on the show frustrating? You betcha. But they are also beautiful.

At the end of Season 4, Emily seemingly fell in love with an Italian fashionista, and she moved into a Rome apartment as she opened a new office for Agence Grateau. A lot was happening, but what else could one expect from a swinging 20-something not yet burdened by a growing family?

Emily deserves good things, too. She is a loyal friend and doesn't take herself too seriously—not yet anyway. But she also knows how to succeed in business and is beginning to make some good money. Still, we care primarily about her lost and gained loves.

Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) is a great character. He's the grizzled heart of Chicago Pd, and we're not sure the show would survive without him. That said, Voight has a bit of a King Midas in reverse thing going on. Due to his dangerous profession, the character often loses those close to him under tragic and violent circumstances. And we're worried history could repeat itself in season 12.

We aren't worried about the Iu team, as each member can handle themselves and have proven to be more than capable of bouncing back from criminal attacks. We're worried about Ada Nina Chapman (Sara Bues), who has grown increasinglt closer to Voight throughout the season. While Chapman is a rare presence in Voight's life, a potential romantic partner, she is also working next to him on a very dangerous case. She could not be more in the line of fire if she tried.

Emily in Paris isn’t exactly known for nuance, but Alfie’s “Brexit banker” arc takes cringe to a whole new level. What was clearly meant to add layers to his character ends up feeling like the show’s clumsiest stab at political relevance. Instead of giving Alfie depth, the plotline screams faux sophistication like someone tossed in Brexit buzzwords hoping it’d pass for character development.

From his brooding boardroom moments to the awkward cultural tension, nothing about it lands. In a series built on fantasy and fashion, this subplot feels like a clunky spreadsheet in a couture boutique and not in a clever way.

Camille Razat, who became the first original Emily In Paris cast member to leave the hit Netflix comedy series, has broken her silence on her departure after four seasons.

“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris,” she wrote in a lengthy Instagram post next to fun behind-the-scenes photos with her co-stars. “It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories.”

Razat plays Camille who was originally the girlfriend of Emily’s (Lily Collins) crush Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and became Emily’s first friend in Paris when the American arrived in the city for her new job. After breakups, reconciliations, an engagement and false pregnancy with Gabriel, on- and off- friendship with Emily and a tumultuous romance with Sofia, Camille packed her bags and left Paris at the end of Season 4.

It's been less than a week since Netflix's Emily in Paris lost one of its original main cast members, and the departing star has broken her silence about her exit from the hit series. Last week, the news arrived that Emily in Paris season 5 would be down one cast member as Camille Razat bid the romantic comedy series adieu after four seasons as a main cast member.

Deadline revealed Razat's departure from the series in their report that also confirmed filming would kick off on the highly anticipated fifth season in May 2025. No other main cast members are leaving the show, not even Lucas Bravo, whose return seemed shaky but was later confirmed. All of our other favorites will be back, but Camille has stirred her lost pot in Emily's personal life.
