Claude Chalhoub, born in Lebanon, attended the Lebanese Conservatoire before entering the Royal College of Music in London as winner of the prestigious Queen Mother Scholarship award.
Fluent in classical music Claude has served as concertmaster of maestro Barenboim's 'West-Eastern Divan' Orchestra. He also performed the classical repertoire for violin with the London Symphony Orchestra, Halle Symphony Orchestra performing "Korngold violin concerto" and with the Holland Symphony Orchestra at the Concertgebouw with the National Dutch Ballet. He also appeared as a soloist at several international festivals, including the Byblos Festival, Al Bustan Festival and Beethovenfest.
CD Releases His debut release on Teldec Classics International is the result of an exclusive recording contract and produced by Michael Brook who has overseen numerous crossover efforts like the RealWorld releases. Diwan is the second album produced by Herzog records, in collaboration with the Gewandhaus Orchester of Leipzig. The album offers original compositions for violin solo and orchestra. Marionettes Dance a DVD produced in 2015 displays his latest work to date.
