Paul S. Shapiro
- Sound Department
- Camera and Electrical Department
Paul Shapiro was born in 1961 and raised in the San Fernando Valley
which is a suburb of Los Angeles, California. After completing his
education, he survived on an income derived from working in the medical
profession. During the year of 1995 his medical career had peaked and
Paul sought out a better way to make a living.
A childhood friend who was successfully employed in the Entertainment business agreed to take Paul under his tutelage and teach Paul how to make a living as a Soundman. Boom Operator, Cable Utility and Sound Mixer were the skills Paul was seeking. An apprenticeship started and Paul was on his way.
Paul formed his company "Paul Shapiro Production Services" in 1997 and began capturing sound relating to the making of television shows and movies. Paul continued this apprenticeship, learning, testing and practicing for many years, always moving forward. Based out of Los Angeles, traveling for work around the United States when needed was no problem. Hollywood, San Diego, Las Vegas, Tennessee, Kansas, New York and even Jamaica were places where Paul has visited to serve his craft.
Today, 2007, Paul is a successful Sound Mixer, on his own for some of todays most popular television shows. Discovery's "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe, Fox's "Hells Kitchen" with Gordan Ramsey and a number of independent documentaries can credit Paul for skillfully capturing the audio portion of their presentations.
