previously head of Sony Corporation of America, which was all of Sony's
Entertainment Assets, such as Columbia & TriStar movie studios,
television units, music enterprises, and home video units). This was a
landmark change in Sony's organization because this was the first time
a westerner was tapped to lead a traditional Japanese-run company
[2005].
