At long last, we got our first look at the second season of The Sandman during Netflix's Geeked Week. The show will continue to adapt Neil Gaiman's seminal fantasy comic about Dream and his band of eternal siblings, each of which represents a different as aspect of the human condition. Dream is the lord of dreams, which puts him in contact with all sorts of characters from myth and legend. The second season will adapt a story from the comics where a bunch of them travel to Dream's realm to attend to a matter of succession, which means Egyptian gods mingle with Norse gods mingle with freaky demons. It should be a good time.

The excitement of Geeked Week continues! Last night Netflix dropped a ton of teasers and reveals for many of its biggest shows. Netflix’s television adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman lurks in the form of Season 2, which will likely arrive over two years after Season 1 first debuted on the streamer in August 2022.

Netflix also launched Dead Boy Detectives, based on another of Gaiman’s comic books set within the universe of The Sandman in April 2024, which adds layers to the story and realm. Season 2 paused production during the double strike in Hollywood in 2023, but now that they are back on track, casting news has been announced as the finish line is becoming less Endless for the next installment of the series.

As Geeked Week continues, Netflix has confirmed that we will return to the Dreaming at some point next year, and we have our first look at some behind-the-scenes footage from season 2 of The Sandman via a new featurette.

The teaser includes shots from two key sequences: The Endless family meeting that kickstarts the events of Season of Mists (and actually lays the groundwork for the entire saga), and the banquet Morpheus holds in his realm in an attempt to find the right person to take up a very important position.

In addition to interviews with the likes of Tom Sturridge (Dream) and Kirby Howell Baptiste (Death), the footage gives us a first glimpse of Laurence O’Fuarain as Thor, Clive Russell as Odin, Freddie Fox as Loki, Shivering Jemmy (we're not sure who has been cast in this role), and more.

Morpheus is back for another season of The Sandman, and the whole family is together this time.

In a Season 2 behind-the-scenes promo debuted by Netflix at Thursday’s Geeked Week event, Tom Sturridge‘s eponymous Dream (aka Morpheus) bonds with his siblings and meets a few other familiar faces from Neil Gaiman‘s comic book series.

“Now we know who Dream is and the world he exists within, it’s possible to open up, and Season 2 definitely does that,” explains Sturridge.

The clip features Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Mason Alexander Park and Donna Preston as Dream’s siblings Death, Desire and Despair. “I think one of the most thrilling things about this season is, for the first time, to have the siblings of the Endless together in one room and to see this extraordinary family exist onscreen together,” Sturridge adds.

Netflix revealed a behind-the-scenes first look on Thursday of Season 2 of “The Sandman,” the ongoing adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s DC graphic novel series, as part of the streamer’s Geeked Week promotional efforts. The season will involve the “Season of Mists” storyline from the comics, in which Lucifer (Gwendoline Christie) abdicates control of Hell and presents Morpheus, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge), with the key to its gates, causing many immortals to try to convince Morpheus to give the key to them.

The behind the scenes featurette provides a first look at one of those contingents: the Norse gods Thor (Laurence O’Fuarain), Loki (Freddie Fox) and Odin (Clive Russell), who attend what executive producer and showrunner Allan Heinberg calls a “banquet” that Dream throws “for all the visiting deities and gods and fairies.”

Netflix made the announcement on their social channels on Wednesday. Sagal will play Dr. Kureha, while Harelik will play Dr. Hiriluk in the live-action adaptation of the popular manga series.

(Read our review Here.) Season 2 of the show went into production last year, then had to be put on pause for a while due to the writers and actors strikes. Thankfully, The Sandman season 2 was able to resume production as soon as those strikes came to an end, and a couple months ago we heard that new cast additions include Esmé Creed-Miles (Hanna) as Delirium, Adrian Lester (Hustle) as Destiny, and Barry Sloane (Pleasureland) as The Prodigal. Game of Thrones‘ Jack Gleeson will join Netflix’s fantasy series for its sophomore run, TVLine has learned. He’ll play Puck, who is described as “a malevolent hobgoblin who serves as the royal jester to King Auberon of Faerie. Puck is fascinated by mortals and enjoys nothing more than making sport of them for his own amusement. He’s also the inspiration for Shakespeare’s Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

“The Sandman” is adding several new cast members to its already growing lineup for Season 2, and these actors will be playing characters introduced in fan-favorite storylines from Neil Gaiman’s beloved DC graphic novel series, including Ruairi O’Connor, who has been cast as the son of Tom Sturridge’s Dream.

Netflix announced on its Tudum website Tuesday that O’Connor will play Orpheus : “the poet, musician, and oracle, is the only child of Dream and the muse, Calliope. Orpheus is an idealistic, romantic, young man – and very much his father’s son – until tragedy strikes and reveals to him the true nature of love.”

Today, Netflix announced the start of production of One Piece Season 2, which reunites the original Straw Hat crew, Iñaki Godoy (Monkey D. Luffy), Mackenyu (Zoro), Emily Rudd (Nami), Jacob Romero (Usopp) and Taz Skylar (Sanji) as they come back together in Cape Town.

The returning cast from One Piece Season 1 also includes Ilia Isorelys Paulino as Alvida, Jeff Ward as Buggy, and Michael Dorman as Gold Roger.

The new cast members joining season two include Brendan Sean Murray as Brogy, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Clive Russell as Crocus, and Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9.

Also on board are David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol, Ty Keogh as Dalton, and Werner Coetser as Dorry.

Netflix’s One Piece is expanding its cast as it heads into a second season.

The live-action adaptation of the expansive manga and anime series has added Werner Coetser, Brendan Murray and Clive Russell to its ensemble of actors. They’ll each play allies of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his Straw Hat Pirates.

Coetser and Murray (Warrior, Raised by Wolves) will play Dorry and Brogy, who in the source material are the two captains of the Giant Warrior Pirates. Game of Thrones alum Russell is set to play Crocus, a wise doctor and lighthouse keeper.

The three actors join fellow newcomers Daniel Lasker, Camrus Johnson, Jazzara Jaslyn and David Dastmalchian, who are set to play members of the Baroque Works criminal organization. Series regulars Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar are set to return.

With the release of Still Wakes the Deep less than a month away, developer The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode have revealed the voice cast for the game in a new mini documentary. The cast includes Alec Newman (Cyberpunk 2077), who will be voicing the main protagonist, Cameron “Caz” McLeary, and Neve McIntosh as Suze, Caz’s wife.

“The thing was so well written, and so well-conceived, that I don’t recall having very long conversations about what Caz should sound like,” says Newman, discussing what struck him about Still Wakes the Deep. “With this, you can feel the writing, you can feel the characters.”
