Dani Minnick started off as an actress in Hollywood in the early eighties. She went on to be a supermodel when the phrase was originally coined. She was in virtually all magazines, print ads and commercials from 1983 through 1987. Ms. Minnick's work as a writer and director is grounded in her extensive experience as a performer, including her studies in acting with Kim Stanley. Dani began her career in the arts as an actress, working on stage, film, and television. Her feature film debut as writer and director, "Falling Like This" premiered on the Sundance Channel and was licensed to Netflix. An award winner at numerous festivals, it was the closing night film at Slamdance. Minnick's short film "World Upon Her Shoulder" aired on Lifetime in addition to screening at several prestigious festivals. Her stage direction has received LA Weekly and Drama-Logue Awards. At the American Film Institute (where she began a collaboration with Alessandro Zezza), she received the first-year directing award and Ashley Amulis Scholarship. She served as first co-chair of The Alliance of Women Directors. She lives in the Mid-Hudson Valley with her 17-year-old son.
