- Costas Mandylor is an Australian actor best known for his role as Detective Mark Hoffman in the Saw film franchise. Born in Melbourne to Greek parents, he began his career in the late 1980s with a supporting role in Triumph of the Spirit (1989) and rose to prominence playing Officer Kenny Lacos on the CBS series Picket Fences (1992), a performance that earned him two Screen Actors Guild Award nominations. Mandylor starred in Mobsters (1991) as Frank Costello and appeared in films such as Fist of the North Star (1995), The Game of Their Lives (2005), and In Like Flynn (2018). His role in the Saw franchise began with a small appearance in Saw III (2006) and expanded into a lead role across multiple sequels, becoming the central antagonist of the series. Before acting, Mandylor played professional soccer in Europe and later moved to the United States to pursue acting, adopting his stage name from his mother's maiden name.
