- She was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1946 King's Birthday Honours List for her services to the Merchant Navy during World War II.

Still acted on stage at the London Palladium at the age of 87. Best known on screen as Mrs. Butler in 'On the Buses'.
