John Gross is a pioneer in creating visual effects for broadcast television series.
In the early 1990s, John was the Editor of LightwavePRO Magazine when he was recruited by Steven Spielberg's new television series seaQuest DSV. Coming aboard to help train the CG artists on the fledgling show, John became a co-founder of the company that would later become Ambling Imaging.
At Ambling, John not only created computer-generated visual effects for the groundbreaking TV series seaQuest DSV (and later seaQuest 2032) but also supervised the team behind the creation of the first ongoing visual effects for the Star Trek series franchise with UPN's Star Trek: Voyager.
After Ambling Imaging closed in 1996, John co-founded Digital Muse, where as Creative Director, he oversaw visual effects creation for multiple television, film, music video, and commercial projects.
In 2000, John co-founded Eden FX, serving as President, Creative Director, and Lead Visual Effects Supervisor. For the next 13 years, Eden FX created award-winning visual effects for television series, films, and special venue productions. Multiple Eden FX team members won Visual Effects Emmys and VES Awards and recognition during this period.
In 2013, John founded Muse VFX, serving as president, Creative Director, and Lead VFX Supervisor. His belief in the importance of team culture and collaboration has won him the loyalty of many talented people who continue to help make Muse VFX a thriving, evolving force in the visual effects industry.
