Former director of Rollem Productions (Mellor spelt backwards) with her sister, father and mother.

Daughter of TV scriptwriter Kay Mellor.

Gave birth to her 1st child at age 29, a son Oliver Mellor Pickering 6 weeks early on April 5, 2001. Child's father is her [now ex] fiance, Mark Pickering.

Gave birth to her 2nd child at age 32, a daughter Lily Mae Pickering - aka Lily Mae - on March 20, 2004. Child's father is Mark Pickering.

Her Coronation Street (1960) character Judy Mallett became the 12th woman on the soap opera to give birth. Judy had twins William (played by Lewis Ablett) and Rebecca (played by Megan Foster), born on 25 December 1998.

Her Emmerdale (1972) character Megan Macey became the 30th woman on the soap opera to give birth. Megan had a daughter Eliza (played by Kyrena Robinson), born on 3 March 2016.

Returned to work 2 months after giving birth to her son Oliver to begin filming the 2nd season of Playing the Field (1998).

Was engaged to property developer Mark Pickering from December 2000 until March 2010, having been in a relationship since August 2000. They have two children together.

Appeared in a number of theatre productions including The Office Party which toured Britain and America.

Played Juliet in Romeo and Juliet at the West Yorkshire Playhouse.
