Across two decades, Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio have made six feature films together, joining forces for the storm-tossed streets of Gangs of New York (2002), the vertiginous heights of The Aviator (2004), the moral maelstrom of The Departed (2006), the fever dream of Shutter Island (2010), the manic opulence of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), and the elegiac sweep of Killers of the Flower Moon (2023).
Together, they have conjured worlds both grand and intimate, as their canvas stretches across historical epics, biopics, crime sagas, thrillers, comedies, and westerns, each crowned by critical acclaim. Their partnership has not only courted awards, garnering 31 Oscar nominations and nine wins, but has captivated audiences to the tune of $1.3 billion at the box office. However, there is one Martin Scorsese movie that DiCaprio watches the most from his career.

After several weeks of relative inactivity, during which Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal's The Accountant 2 had become a fixture at the number one spot, the Prime Video viewership charts have taken a dynamic turn in recent weeks. First, the action-comedy Heads of State claimed the top spot for itself, only to be replaced by the rather unlikely War of the Worlds reimagining a couple of weeks later. What made the development so surprising was that War of the Worlds was one of the most widely panned films in recent memory; it continues to hold a rare 0% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. But only a week after its release, the "screenlife" thriller has been unseated from the number one spot by Eddie Murphy's new film, The Pickup.
Also starring Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer, the heist movie opened to mixed reviews. It holds a 33% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes,...

Here's something we didn’t have on our 2025 bingo card: Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver are being used to deter wolves from attacking cattle on farms across the nation. Now that you've stopped laughing, we can tell you that it's true, as a new report from The Wall Street Journal goes into great detail to describe how the Usda is using "drone cowhands" to fend off the wolves and save livestock.
Part of the strategy involves using drones equipped with thermal cameras to expose wolves and bathe them in bright lights. Once spotted, a loudspeaker blasts all sorts of irritating noise, including the heated argument between Johansson and Driver that's featured in the Oscar-winning 2019 Netflix movie, Marriage Story. The strategy seems to be working, as after wolves killed 11 cows in the Klamath Basin of southern Oregon over a 20-day period, drones were deployed to knock that number back to just two deaths over 85 days.

Seth Rogen is the odds-on favorite to win so many Emmys for The Studio, he'll need to bring a mantelpiece as his plus-one.
According to Gold Derby's predictions for the 2025 Emmys, Rogen is out front to win Best Comedy Series (for which he's a producer), Best Comedy Actor, and Best Comedy Directing (for "The Oner"). Plus, he's the runner-up in Best Comedy Writing (for "The Promotion"), behind only the Hacks showrunning trio of Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky (for "A Slippery Slope").
Should Rogen win all four, he'd be the only person in Emmy history to win those specific trophies in the same year. In 2020, Daniel Levy won three of the four for Schitt's Creek, but his acting award was for supporting, not lead. Here's what Rogen tells Gold Derby about potentially making history:

When The Four Seasons debuted on Netflix in May 2025 as a limited series, fans were captivated by its heartfelt, comedic exploration of lifelong friendship and midlife change. Starring Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Colman Domingo, and an ensemble cast, it quickly became a hit, accumulating 39 million hours in the first half of 2025 on Netflix, according to its latest engagement report.
Despite being envisioned as a limited series, the Netflix show has been renewed for a second season. The unexpected renewal wasn’t just born of fan enthusiasm, but reflects a direct tie to the show’s emotional core.

Peter-Henry Schroeder, a veteran character actor best known to Star Trek fans for his role in Star Trek: Enterprise, has died at the age of 90.
According to Deadline, Schroeder passed away peacefully in early June at the Lake City Va Medical Center in Florida.
Schroeder famously appeared in the 2-part series premiere of Star Trek: Enterprise, which aired back in 2001. In the 2-part “Broken Bow” event, Schroeder played Klingon Chancellor, a high-ranking member of the Klingon race. While his role might seem small in the grand scale of the series, which ran for four seasons and nearly 100 episodes, it was an integral part of the series premiere, and those two episodes are what helped to pave the way for the show’s successful run.
In addition to his role in Star Trek: Enterprise, Schroeder lived a truly fascinating life and lived life to the fullest.

Chauvinism definitely played a role on 1970s sitcom smash Three’s Company, Joyce DeWitt told Suzanne Somers in 2012. But it was also about creative and financial control. Producers simply could not respect…
“Women!” interjected Somers.
“Feminine contribution,” agreed DeWitt.
For Somers, frustration centered on compensation. “You and I deserved to be paid equal with what the men were being paid, is my feeling,” she said.
For DeWitt’s part, she was frustrated about her inability to make creative contributions without secret help from male pals. Her suggestions for cuts and changes, especially in the show’s first season, were ignored by the men in charge, DeWitt writes in Come and Knock on Our Door: A Hers and Hers and His Guide to Three’s Company. The actor was used to collaboration in theater but found herself “up against a cement wall” with the show’s producers.

Neil Patrick Harris, James Corden, and Bobby Cannavale are returning to Broadway this year in a new production of the play Art and rehearsals have begun!
The three actors gathered for the first time last week in New York City to kick off the rehearsal process.
Here is the play’s synopsis: “Three longtime friends. One ridiculously expensive painting. Is it art, or is it just the world’s priciest inside joke? What begins as a polite debate over aesthetics and taste devolves into a clash of egos and resentments. Can their friendship survive, or will one of them finally draw the line?”
The original production of Art opened on Broadway in 1998 and starred Alfred Molina, Victor Garber, and Alan Alda. The production won the Tony Award for Best Play and ran on Broadway for more than a year.
The upcoming revival of Art will be directed by Scott Ellis.

Netflix's breakout comedy series The Four Seasons has been one of the biggest surprise hits of the year, but we shouldn't be too surprised the show attracted such a wide audience given the talent involved. Tina Fey? Steve Carell? Colman Domingo? Come on! That's not even the full main cast of the series, which will be returning for a second season following it's smashing success.
The Four Seasons adapts the film of the same name, written and directed by Alan Alda, who makes a cameo appearance in the Netflix series. But in order to bring the story to a new generation, Fey's production company needed to secure the rights to the movie. In a new interview reflecting on the show's success, Fey revealed that getting those rights wasn't as easy as expected.

Netflix has been home to multiple comedy hits recently, with the likes of Nobody Wants This, A Man on the Inside, and Running Point all earning season 2 renewals quickly after their debuts. Another hit comedy joined Netflix's ranks in May with the release of The Four Seasons, which like its fellow Netflix comedies before it, landed a season 2 renewal shortly after making a big splash.
The followup season hasn't started filming yet, but series star and co-creator Tina Fey has gotten back into the writer's room with the rest of the writers to begin crafting the hilarious stories that will take place in The Four Seasons season 2. Based on how the first season ended, with a major cliffhanger, we can estimate the directions some of the characters will take.
While the second season will be down one character after their surprising death, the rest of the characters will be back.

Marco Calvani, the Italian star who delivered a breakout performance in Netflix’s “The Four Seasons,” is leaning into his roots for “Italianna,” Universal Pictures and Will Packer Productions’ upcoming romantic comedy starring Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page.
Directed by Kat Coiro from a screenplay by Ryan Engle, “Italianna” will be released theatrically on April 10, 2026.
Calvani, who is also a playwright and filmmaker, joins the project after making his U.S. acting debut in “The Four Seasons,” Tina Fey’s adaptation of the 1981 Alan Alda film by the same name. Calvani plays the charming (yet sometimes over-the-top) Claude, husband to Colman Domingo’s Danny, in the comedy about a group of friends navigating life, love and loss. Calvani told Variety that Domingo, whom he calls a “dear friend,” recruited him for the role while he was working on his second feature.
“[He] called me one morning and was like, ‘Hey, are you still an actor?...

When I sat down for lunch in Bryant Park, Manhattan, with “The Four Seasons” star Marco Calvani, I asked him whether anyone had recognized him on the street during the press tour for the Netflix series.
“I am learning to enjoy this time until it lasts. Those billboards on Santa Monica Boulevard, in three months, there will be another face. Sunset Boulevard, we took over, everywhere, my big, giant face. I didn’t know any of this before, so I can’t say I was afraid, but I didn’t know what to expect. Yesterday, I was around New York, and 10 people in one hour on the streets [stopped me]. I’m actually more shocked by the fact that people actually watched it, many different people of different ages and looks. It’s another opportunity to be nice to people,” he said of the viral comedy series from Tina Fey, Lang Fisher,...

Emmy winner Tina Fey has addressed the possibility of Steve Carell’s return in the upcoming second season of The Four Seasons. In addition to playing one of the Netflix show’s lead characters, Fey also took on multiple roles behind-the-scenes, including serving as its co-creator, co-writer, and co-showrunner.
During the penultimate episode of The Four Seasons Season 1, Carell’s character Nick surprisingly died in a car accident while he was on a New Year’s Eve ski vacation with his girlfriend and her friends, whom he had trouble connecting with due to their age gap. In a recent interview with Deadline, when asked if Fey has any plans to bring back Carell in potential flashback sequences, she admitted that she doesn’t really know at the moment. “I couldn’t possibly say. With Netflix comedy series The Four Seasons, co-creator and star Tina Fey skewers the intricate dynamics of romantic partnership, taking us on a series of vacations with four couples in a longtime friend group. Based on Alan Alda’s 1981 film in which he starred with Carol Burnett, Fey and co-creators Tracey Wigfield and Lang Fisher’s reimagining tracks the fallout among the friends when Steve Carell’s character Nick leaves his wife Anne (Kerri Kenney) and finds love with the much younger Ginny (Erika Henningson). Fey’s character Kate and her husband Jack (Will Forte) absorb the seismic impact, along with Colman Domingo’s Danny and husband Claude (Marco Calvani). With Season 2 on the way, Fey discusses the hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking reality explored by the show, if Steve Carell could appear in a flashback, and how she sees comedy evolving in the industry.

Ted Danson has 18 Emmy nominations to his name, 14 of which are in Best Comedy Actor. If that sounds like a lot, it is. He holds the record for the most nominations in the category — a record he could extend if he scores his 15th bid this year with A Man on the Inside.
Danson, who won Best Comedy Actor for Cheers in 1990 and 1993, previously shared the record at 11 nominations with Alan Alda and Kelsey Grammer for 14 years before nabbing his 12th nomination in 2018 for The Good Place. He racked up two more in 2019 and 2020 for the NBC comedy to put more distance between them.
Alda was the first person bag 11 Best Comedy Actor nominations, all for M*A*S*H, winning in 1974 and 1982. Danson was also nominated for all 11 seasons of Cheers. After debuting Dr. Frasier Crane on Cheers, for which he earned two supporting actor bids, Grammer starred on Frasier for 11 years,...

Colman Domingo is waiting to exhale. Working primarily in the drama sphere, he’s snagged an Emmy for his role as a drug recovery counselor in Euphoria and Oscar nominations for Sing Sing and Rustin, where he played men oppressed by systemic inequalities. Unsurprisingly, he was more than happy to give himself “the gift of a comedy” with Netflix’s latest dramedy, The Four Seasons. In this reimagining of Alan Alda’s 1981 film, Domingo and Marco Calvani are paired as husbands, who, alongside their coupled longtime friends, go on multiple seasonal vacations while weathering the many highs and lows of marriage.

The trailer for the Naked Gun reboot starring Liam Neeson went online this morning, and its brand of off-the-wall parody is a welcome return for fans of the original series of films, starring the coincidentally similarly named Leslie Nielsen.
But the legacy of Frank Drebin goes even further back than the original 1988 feature — to a prematurely canceled television show, Police Squad!
Criminally underseen at the time, the series was subsequently reclaimed by fans of the first three Naked Gun movies, which were all successful in their theatrical releases and eventually sparked a re-airing of the series in the late '80s.
Even so, Police Squad! became a sort of trivia fact for people to discover after they had seen a Naked Gun movie (or 2 1/2) , but what sometimes gets forgotten is that while television audiences may not have appreciated the brand of goofiness signature to creators David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker at the time,...

While there have been many brilliant books that were adapted through the years, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the TV shows are also good, and that’s why we decided to compile a list of the absolute best TV shows that were based on books. We can all agree that M*A*S*H remains one of the greatest shows ever, and even the outstanding ratings prove so. The acclaimed dramedy, developed by Larry Gelbart, premiered on CBS on September 17, 1972, and ended with a laudable finale titled "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" on February 28, 1983, which to date is the most-watched finale of any TV series. Much of the classic’s success can be attributed to the stellar cast ensemble, which originally featured Alan Alda, Wayne Rogers, Larry Linville, Loretta Swit, McLean Stevenson, Gary Burghoff, Jamie Farr, and William Christopher.
However, over the years, some changes were made to the original M*A*S*H cast, one of which was the replacement of Rogers after his sudden disappearance. He was popularly known for portraying "Trapper" John McIntyre in the show's first three seasons before Mike Farrell took over as B. J. Hunnicutt. Rogers was one of the...

“Just one more time,” says Tina Fey. “It was time for me to go back into something just one more time, before they put me in the ground.”
With a string of successes from 30 Rock, Mean Girls, Saturday Night Live to Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, turns out it was a 40-year-old movie that inspired the award-winning triple threat to take another creative swing.
“I’ve always loved the movie since I was 11 years old,” Fey tells Gold Derby of the 1981 feature The Four Seasons. As luck would have it, the film was made for Universal Studios, where she happens to have an overall deal. More crucially, she also secured the blessing of Alan Alda, who wrote and directed the original, and has a cameo in Fey’s limited series adaptation for Netflix. “I think he's delighted that this movie he made 40 years ago is still speaking to people in these two different ways,...

Has there ever been a more essential moment for a documentary than one about the making of Ms. magazine? Though it was founded more than half a century ago, nearly all the subjects it raised and debated continue to feel urgently relevant.
To wit, “Dear Ms: A Revolution in Print” opens with narration from founding editor Letty Cottin Pogrebin: “Try to imagine life where you are owned by, or controlled by, men.” There are, perhaps, some women who can still imagine what that might be like today.
Directors Salima Koroma, Alice Gu and Cecilia Aldarondo are well aware of the timeliness of their subject and subtly allow us to draw parallels even as they take us back to the 1970s.
They’ve chosen to split the film into three chapters, with each director telling a different part of the magazine’s story. This tripartite structure does make the film feel somewhat fragmented,...

After years of making audiences laugh with her sharp comedic timing, Kerri Kenney-Silver wasn’t looking for reinvention — but it found her anyway. In The Four Seasons, the ensemble drama inspired by the 1981 Alan Alda film, Kenney-Silver steps into the unexpected role of Anne, a soft-spoken woman navigating change in midlife. Best known for her offbeat characters on shows like Reno 911!, the actor found herself charting new emotional territory — and, in the process, experiencing a profound shift both on screen and off.
“It's any actor's dream to get to play, to have a full experience, so to speak,” Kenney-Silver says, reflecting on Anne’s evolution over the show’s debut season. “You meet her in one place in her life where she thinks her bed is made … she's going to just sort of finish out her life for better or for worse, but mostly for better in her eyes.

Now, the show has emerged as a legitimate Emmy contender, hailed for its excellent cast and often hilarious yet always poignant writing.

Loretta Swit, whose quick wit and determination transformed Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan from a punchline into one of television’s most complex nurses, died Friday at her New York City home at age 87, according to publicist Harlan Boll.
The news set off a wave of online remembrances led by longtime co-star Alan Alda, who wrote on X that Swit “deserved every one of her 10 Emmy nominations and her two wins” and credited her with turning Houlihan “from a sexist stereotype into a real person—with real feelings and ambitions.”
Alda’s message was echoed by other surviving Mash* actors, who called Swit “the heartbeat of the 4077th” in posts collated by Parade magazine and Yahoo Entertainment. Fans added thousands of tributes, sharing clips of Houlihan confronting battlefield sexism—scenes Swit fought to include during script conferences throughout the show’s 11-season run.

Emmy-winning actress Loretta Swit, best known for her iconic portrayal of Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on M*A*S*H's 11 seasons, passed away on May 30 at the age of 87. Beyond her unforgettable role on the hit series, Swit leaves behind an incredible legacy, including an Emmy record that may never be broken.
From 1974 to 1983, Swit earned 10 consecutive Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy, Variety, or Music Series nominations for playing "Hot Lips" — the most consecutive bids ever in this category. This incredible streak also ties Swit with Rhea Perlman for the most nominations in the category overall. However, Swit’s achievement stands out because all 10 of her nominations were consecutive, while Perlman’s 10 nods for playing Carla Tortelli in Cheers were not; Perlman missed a nomination in 1992 before earning her 10th in 1993.
Swit's first of two wins came on her seventh try, but unfortunately she wasn't there to accept it.

To some, Kerri Kenney-Silver might seem like she has nothing left to prove. She’s a founding member of the sketch group The State, prolific in comedy projects of all kinds (including the long-running Reno 911!), and still busy midway through her 50s. But getting cast as Anne in The Four Seasons, then receiving multiple scripts, and finally being called to set to film still didn’t make her feel entirely secure about joining the production.
At a Four Seasons panel on the first day of the Atx TV Festival, Kenney-Silver admitted that when she first arrived at her trailer, she didn’t unpack. Because she assumed she’d get fired right away, she tried to spare her future self the pain of having to gather up her personal items, like photos of her son, and depart in shame. Instead, Kenney-Silver has become the show’s breakout star — perhaps because, as she told the panel audience,...

Loretta Swit, who played Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan on seminal TV comedy “Mash,” died Friday at her home in New York City. She was 87.
Her rep Harlan Boll said she died of natural causes.
For her work on “Mash” Swit was Emmy nominated for outstanding performance by a supporting actress in a comedy every year from 1974-83, winning the Emmy in 1980 and 1982.
Her “Mash” co-star Alan Alda remembered her on X, writing “Loretta was a supremely talented actor. She deserved all her 10 Emmy nominations and her 2 wins. But more than acting her part, she created it. She worked hard In showing the writing staff how they could turn the character from a one joke sexist stereotype into a real person — with real feelings and ambitions. We celebrated the day the script came out listing her character not as Hot Lips, but as Margaret. Loretta made the most of her time here.
