The voices of people with lived experience of diabetes

Reema Al-Dweik (Jordan)

My personal philosophy is that diabetes is not an enemy, but a friend. You can live a healthy life if you treat it well. This means balancing the quality and quantity of your meals to achieve a healthy lifestyle. With this positive outlook, I've found that living with diabetes is not a burden, but an opportunity for better health.

Amro Abou Ankira (Morocco)

My commitment to diabetes advocacy was sparked by my own diagnosis with type 1 diabetes in 2021. Since then, I have dedicated myself to advancing diabetes care and advocacy initiatives, both personally and professionally.

Jyotsana Rangeen (India)

Turning challenges into opportunities, stigma into understanding and barriers into bridges gives me a path to follow towards a world where access to care is a right, and social stigma and discrimination are things of the past.
