Global grosses and total cinema revenue will surpass pre-COVID-19 pandemic levels in 2026, but admissions won’t do so over the next five years, a July 15 report from accounting firm PwC forecasts. Both Fox and Univision set records for their telecasts of the Euro 2024 final on July 14 between Spain and England and the Copa América final, featuring Argentina and Colombia. Spain-England drew a combined 9.43 million viewers Sunday afternoon, and in primetime, Argentina’s victory over Colombia averaged 11.63 million across the two networks. Fox topped 6 million viewers for both contests: Spain’s 2-1 victory over England averaged 6.43 million viewers, and the Copa America final came in at 6.02 million.

YouTube’s Streaming Run

Among individual streaming services in June, YouTube remained No. 1 and hit its best mark in the Nielsen Gauge’s three-year history with 9.9 percent of all TV use. Netflix had 8.4 percent, up 0.8 points from May. Fox’s free, ad-supported platform Tubi also hit its best mark ever with 2 percent of all TV usage. Details.
