The Talk: Finding balance with HIV

Four HIV-positive individuals share their wisdom on finding balance with treatment and living life to the fullest.

For the second episode of the fourth season of Plus’s video series, “The Talk,” we sit back down with our “wise elders” to share tips on balancing living a full life with your HIV treatment. From what to do if you forget a dose to using the resources you have, a lot is covered when these four get to talking. “When I began to get healthy and I got up to working, and life began lifing, I was beginning to miss pill sessions,” Executive Director of The Pozitive2Positive Initiative Morris Singletary shares. “My doctor said to me, ‘Morris, you can’t be doing everything for everyone else and not do it for yourself.’” If you happen to miss a dose or two, don’t panic. You can get back on your treatment regimen and make a plan to stay adherent. “If I can set an alarm to wake me up, then I can set an alarm to take my pill,” Morris explains. “Everything that we need to succeed, we already have…And you become bigger and better than HIV every time you take your medicine. So, live, baby, live. Live your best life.” Watch the video to learn more.
