BENTON TWP. — The success of the Benton Township’s trash program has convinced board members that it’s time to create a special fund for it.

Board members unanimously authorized creating a special revenue fund for the trash program, for which township Comptroller Ben Brewer will devise an annual budget, and submit regular reports, “to ensure transparency and accountability,” according to the resolution passed Tuesday night.
