2025 BMW M3 Competition

Here’s what’swrong with the 2025 BMW M3 Competition. The steering lacks feel, a complaint of just about every current BMW. The optional carbon fiber sport bucket seats, while excellent at keeping you in place with 500-plus horsepower at your disposal, are difficult to get in and out of and not ideal for long journeys. There’s more wind and tire noise in the cabin than you’d expect. Of course, not all will love the M3’s cyborg beaver grille. While the M3 can be had with a manual transmission, the Competition strictly sports a ZF eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The soundtrack from the quad exhausts is ho-hum.

Now that the downsides are out of the way, it’s more fun to focus on what the M3 Competition gets right. Which is everything else.
