The ASUS TUF Gaming B850-PLUS WIFI motherboard is built on the AMD B850 chipset and is compatible with AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors using the Socket AM5 interface. This model supports CPU overclocking, unlike the B840 variant, which does not and is similar to the AMD B550 chipset from the Socket AM4 platform. The motherboard features a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot and three M.2 slots for high-speed data transfer and storage. The main M.2 slot operates in PCIe 5.0 x4 mode, while the other two support PCIe 4.0 x4 mode. It also includes four SATA 6Gb/s ports for connecting traditional storage devices. For memory, the motherboard provides four DIMM slots that support DDR5 ECC and Non-ECC unbuffered modules, allowing for flexible memory configurations. Networking options include a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet port and integrated WiFi 7, which offers wireless speeds up to 2.5Gbps with a 160MHz bandwidth, along with Bluetooth version 5.4. The motherboard offers one DisplayPort and one HDMI port for display connections. It follows the ATX form factor, measuring 12 inches by 9.6 inches (30.5 cm x 24.4 cm), making it compatible with a wide range of PC cases. The rear I/O panel includes various ports: one USB 20Gbps port with USB Type-C, three USB 10Gbps Type-A ports, four USB 5Gbps Type-A ports, an additional HDMI port, a DisplayPort, a Wi-Fi module, a Realtek 2.5Gb Ethernet port, five audio jacks, and a BIOS FlashBack button for firmware updates.
