OUR APPROACH

There are three things we need to do to save our planet.

  • The first step to saving our planet is to stop worsening the crisis. To truly cut our greenhouse gas emissions, we must build the clean energy infrastructure needed to meet our energy needs. We build campaigns and fund organizations focused on pro-clean energy messaging, policy, and workforce development.

  • Even if we switch to 100% renewables tomorrow, there’s enough carbon in our atmosphere to send our planet past the 1.5°C targets to limit global warming. Thankfully nature has already given us the technology to capture and store carbon: our forests, oceans, and soil. We build campaigns and support organizations focused on restoring our natural carbon sinks, protecting local ecosystems and biodiversity, and bringing other nature-based solutions to scale.

  • To prevent future environmental destruction for generations to come, we have to strengthen the rights of people and Nature in our legal frameworks. This requires long-term legal innovation and frontline leadership to pass laws, amend constitutions, and win international treaties. Grounded supports the work of organizations that are leading these efforts.
