Python - math.atan() function

Math module contains a number of functions which is used for mathematical operations. The math.atan() function returns the arctangent of a number as a value. The value passed in this function should be between -PI/2 and PI/2 radians.
Syntax: math.atan(x) Parameter:This method accepts only single parameters.
  • x :This parameter is the value to be passed to atan()
Returns:This function returns the arctangent of a number as a value.
Below examples illustrate the use of above function: Example 1: Python3

# importing "math"
# for mathematical operations  
import math   
    
a = math.pi / 6
     
# returning the value of arctangent  of pi / 6  
print ("The value of tangent of pi / 6 is : ", end ="")  
print (math.atan(a))  
Output:
The value of tangent of pi / 6 is : 0.48234790710102493
